5 Arming Your System When Leaving 1 Before arming your syste m, make sure the Green X Ready light is ON. Th is indicates that all of your protective zones are secure. If any zones are op en , the corresponding Zone light will be ON. Secure these zones before proceeding.
6 Protecting Yourself While at Home 1 Before arming your system, make su re the Gree n X Ready light is ON. This indi cates that all of your protective zones are secure . If any zones are open, the correspond ing Zone light will be ON. S ecure those zones before proceeding.
7 Emergency Buttons The three sets of emerg ency buttons, if programmed , are always active whether the system is armed or disarmed. Discuss these Buttons with your installer. The emerge ncy signal will only be activated when the two respective buttons are pressed at the same time.
8 Disarming Your System when Return ing 1 Enter your premises through the Entry/Exit door. The ke ypad will sound a steady tone to remind yo u to dis- arm the system before your Entr y Delay time expir es. 2 Enter your user code. The Red W Armed light w ill go out, indicating that the system has been disa rmed.
9 Preparing a Fire Escape Plan Even with the most advanced fire alarm system, adequate protection requires an e scape plan. To prepare your plan, draw floor plans of your building (space is provided on the next page). Show two exits - a front or back door and a win- dow from each room.

12 The XP-600 is constantly monito ring its own component s, as well as all critical services, such as AC Power and the Telephone line, to insure that it is always ready to pro vide the protection for which it was designed. When a system troubl e does occur, it will cautio n you by lighting the yellow H SYSTEM light and beeping the keypad buzzer.

14 Your Installer has assigne d a User 1 Code which may be used to not only Arm and Disarm the system, but also to enter the User Program Mode, whe re you can program other user c odes. The following expl ains how you will use this code to program or erase additional user codes.
15 Ambush Code - In the ev ent that y ou are forced by an intruder to disarm your system, this special code ca n be used to disarm the system, and simultaneously send a silent alarm to Central Sta tion. If your system ha s the Am bush featur e en- abled, the code assign ed as th e User 6 code will function as your Ambush Code.
