3 free operati on. Man y afterm arket mains cord sets are poor ly constructed and c an either damage your Model Eleve n and/or can present a fire ha zard. Check the rear pan el mark ing of the Model Eleven to de term ine the mains voltage requirem ents (eit her 115 o r 230 Volts at eit her 50 or 60 H z).
4 Setup Menu If your Model Ele ven will be used onl y to play standard CDs no setu p will be req uired. If, however, you intend t o play an y of the higher perform ance form ats such as DVD-V , DVD-A or SACD, y o u will need to configure the M odel El even fo r y our sy stem.
5 Digital A udio Out “Digital Aud io Out” is the first item in the lef t hand colum n; mak e certain that th is item is highlight ed, if it is not, then do s o using the “U p” and “Down” navigatio n ke ys. To the right wil l be a list of individu al choic es and their c urrent sett ings.
6 MPEG Out The f ifth sub-s ubmenu ite m is for MPEG. It should be noted that this is for DVDs that have MPEG aud io not MP3s ( which are cov ered in a diff erent section of this manual) . As in t he previous exam ples , there a re t wo choices , eith er “MPEG” or “MPEG > PC M”.
7 A udio Language This sub-subm enu item has three choic es, “Japanese” , “Englis h” or “Other Language”. T he “Other Lan guage” o ption will bring up a subm enu which all ows you to s elect addit ional languages based up on either a numeric entry or by using the “Up” an d “Down” navigat ion keys.

9 SACD Playback This sub-subm enu selects the behavi or of the Model Eleven when playing SACD discs. T he choices i nclude “ 2ch are a”, Multi- ch area” and “CD Ar ea. Some SAC D discs cont ain both 2 channel a nd multi- channe l inform ation.
10 Speaker Dist ance This sub-subm enu invok es a sim ilar graphica l displa y as in “Speak er Installati on”. Here, for each spe aker s hown as pres ent in the “S peaker Installat ion” sec tion, a distance setting ( in me ters) is entered. T his num ber entered is in relations hip to the m ain listeni ng posit ion.
11 be visi ble no w. The thre e choices are “Aud io DRC”, “Virtual Surround” a nd “Channel Level”. A u dio D RC This menu option has two choices’ either “O ff” (default) or “On”. Audio DRC is a circuit that reduces th e total d ynam ic range of the aud io from discs encoded with Dolby Digital.
12 Disc Play – CD To pla y a CD, fir st open the disc tra y by press ing “open” on t he f ront panel. Place t he disc i n the tray wit h the data side do wn (label u p). T hen either pres s “open” on the f ront panel or “Pla y /pla y” on either th e remo te or f ront panel to begin pla y.
13 A-B Repeat The firs t of the submenus , “A-B Repeat” has a sub-subm enu with thre e possible cho ices. “A (Start Poi nt)” is used to mark the begin ning of a loop.

The opti onal Rem ote-1 can ac cess most of the f unctions that are r equired for norm al disc pla y; howe ver, the m ulti-f unction remote w ill be ne cessary for accessi ng any of the setup m enus.
