EN-14 Setting up your pr ojector (continued) Corr ecting skewed or distorted image For the best projection, pr oject images on a fl at screen installed at 90 degrees to the fl oor . If necessary , tilt the projector using the two adjustment feet on the bottom of the projector .
EN-15 Setting up your pr ojector (continued) • When the KEYSTONE-mode adjustment is performed, the displayed image may be distorted. • Depending on the installation conditions of the projector and the scr een, a perfect r ectangular image and the proper aspect ratio may not be obtained.
EN-16 Setting up your pr ojector (continued) Adjustment using the CURVED mode T o adjust images projected on a curved surface, press the ENTER/GEOMETR Y button on the pr ojector or the GEOMETR Y button on the r emote control to display the CURVED mode, and then pr ess the S , T , W or X button to correct the distortion.

EN-24 Blanking the screen temporarily (BLANK) The video signal is temporarily muted when the BLANK button is pressed. The scr een turns black. Y ou will hear a mechanical shutter sound inside the projector . T o cancel muting, press the BLANK button again.
EN-25 Viewing video images Connecting to a video player , etc. 1. Connect one end of a commer cially available BNC cable to the VIDEO IN terminal of the projector . 2. Connect the other end of the BNC cable to the video output terminal of the video equipment.
EN-26 Viewing video images (continued) Projector + DVD player or HDTV decoder Some DVD players have an output connector for 3-line fi tting (Y , C B , C R ). When connecting such DVD player with this projector , use the COMPUTER/COMPONENT VIDEO IN-2 terminals.

EN-42 Adjusting pr ojected images T o adjust the brightness (CONTRAST and BRIGHTNESS): Y ou can make adjustments for the brightness of the projected image using the menu. (See page 32 for menu setting.) 1. Display the IMAGE menu. 2. Select CONTRAST or BRIGHTNESS by pr essing the S or T button.

EN-45 Adjusting pr ojected images (continued) How to adjust the computer image This projector automatically selects a pr oper signal format according to the type of video signal supplied from the computer . However , video signals from the computer may not be projected corr ectly depending on the types of the computer and images to be projected.

EN-53 Lamp r elay Using the lamp relay function, you can pr oject images continuously . The lamp relay function automatically rests or switches the lamps. The lamp r elay is performed when LAMP SELECT in the INST ALLA TION 1 menu is set to DUAL or SINGLE.
EN-54 • Immediately after the power -on, during the lamp selection, or during the lamp relay operation, you cannot change the setting of LAMP SELECT and LAMP RELA Y . • In the case of continuous projection, the lamps may deteriorate earlier unless they are turned off for 1 hour per week.
EN-55 • The image within the outer edges of the red frame is captured. • The captured image is displayed in the REAL mode automatically . CAPTURE : ENTER + ENTER CANCEL : MENU CAPTURE : ENTER X2 CANCEL : MENU 12.Adjust the size of the image to be captured so that such image stays within the red frame.
EN-56 Passwor d function This projector is equipped with the passwor d function that is designed for prevention of wr ong operation by children and r estriction on operation by other than specifi ed users. The passwor d function has 3 modes as follows.
EN-57 Pictur e in Pictur e (PinP) One of the special features of this pr ojector is the picture-in-pictur e (PinP) mode. The PinP mode allows you to view the images from dif ferent sources at the same time.
EN-58 Important: • When you set CONTROL SYSTEM to CRESTRON in the NETWORK menu, the web control for Crestr on is enabled. For such control, Adobe Flash Player should be installed in advance. Y ou can download Adobe Flash Player from the website of Adobe Systems Incorporated.
EN-59 Connection For details of the connection, see “LAN control UTILITY operation manual” in the CD-ROM. When ST ANDBY MODE of the INST ALLA TION 1 menu of the projector is set to LOW , the LAN network is disabled. T o enable the LAN network, set ST ANDBY MODE to ST ANDARD.
EN-60 Monitoring and contr ol using SERIAL terminal Using the SERIAL terminal, you can monitor and control multiple pr ojectors collectively or individually .
EN-61 Contr ol by a contr ol panel, etc. When installing the projector in a place wher e the remote control signals cannot r each the projector , you can control the projector using a contr ol panel or other device connected to the REMOTE 1 IN terminal.
EN-62 Replacing the lamp This projector is equipped with 2 lamps to pr oject images. This lamp is a consumable. It may burn out or its brightness may decrease during use. In such cases, replace the lamp with a new one as soon as possible. Be sure to r eplace the lamp with a new lamp separately sold that is exclusive to this projector .

EN-64 When removing the lamp fr om the ceiling-mounted projector When removing the lamp fr om the ceiling-mounted projector , use the lamp replacement tray packed with the projector or option lamp to pr event glass fragments from scattering. • Assemble the lamp replacement tray accor ding to the procedure shown on it.
EN-65 Automatic cleaning fi lter This projector is equipped with an automatic cleaning fi lter . The burdensome fi lter cleaning is automatically carried out. • When the power of the projector is on, the fi lter is cleaned after the designated time elapses.
EN-66 Automatic cleaning fi lter (continued) How to clean the automatic cleaning fi lter Check the amount of dust through the dust check window of the fi lter cover and clean it, if necessary . Before cleaning the fi lter , be sure to turn off the main power switch of the projector and unplug the power cord fr om the outlet.
EN-67 T roubleshooting Before asking for r epair of the projector , check the following. If the symptom persists, stop using the projector , be sure to unplug the power plug, and then contact your dealer . No image appears on the screen. Problem Solution Power can not be turned on.
