- 1 - INTRODUCTIONS The USB 10/100 M Fast Ethernet A dapter provides outside-the-box plug -and-play local area network connections for USB -enabled PCs, notebooks a nd lapt ops. This ad apter uses a B type USB port to connect with the USB host, an d an RJ-45 port to connect with a 10/100 Fast Ethernet LAN link.

- 3 - INSTALLATION Precaution Before the installatio n, make sure the USB port exists in your computer and is e nabled. To check this, go to My Computer Æ Contr ol Panel Æ System . Open the Device M anager tab. If the Universal Serial Bus controller device is found, it means your USB port is installed and enabled.

- 5 - SOFTWARE INSTALLATION Installation for Windo ws 98 1. Once the device is properly connected to your computer, Windo ws 98 will automatically detect the ne w hardware device. Perf orm the follo wing procedu res for install ing the devi ce driver.
- 6 - 3. The installation program will proceed automatically. Follow th e on-screen instruction to finish. 4. When Windows prompt s you to restart your computer, click No to mak e s ome changes to y our networ k settings.
- 7 - 5. Go to Start Æ Settings Æ Co ntro l Pan el . Double-click Netwo rk . 6. When the Netw ork dialog box ap pears, select USB 10/100M Fast Ethernet and click Add . Set the appropriate protocol s and client for you n eeds. When completed, click OK .
- 8 - Adapter is found, it m eans that your d evice is properly installed and enabled. Installation for Windo ws 2000 1. Once the de vice is well connected to your computer, Windows 2000 will automatically detect the new device. Click Nex t to proceed.
- 9 - 2. Select Search for a sui table driver for my device (recommended) and click Next . 3. Insert the new device driver to the disk drive. Select Floppy disk drives . Click Next . 4. Click Next . Windows will copy all the necessary files to your system.
- 10 - 7. Go to Start Æ Setti ngs Æ Contro l Pan el Æ Network and Dial -up Connections . Double-click Local A rea Conn ections . 8. When the Netw ork dialog box ap pears, select USB 10/100 Ne twork Adapter and click Install . Set the appr opriate protoc ols and client for you needs.
- 11 - 9. Remember to restart your com puter to activate the new device. Setup Diagnostics To verify if t he device exists in your computer and is enabled, go to Start Æ Settings Æ Control Panel Æ System Æ Hardware.
