Basic Maintenance W arning T o avoid shock, remove the test leads an d any input signals before opening the case o r replacing the battery or fuses. Opening the Meter Ca se Caution T o avoid unintentional shock circuit, always place the uncovered Meter assembl y on a protective surface.
T esting Fuses T o test the internal fuses of the meter . 1. T urn the rotary selector s witch to the Ω position. 2. T o test FS1, plug a test lead into V Ω Hz input terminal, and touch the probe to the A input terminal. The displ ay should indicate between 0.
Performance T est s The following performance test s verify the co mplete operability of the Meter an d check the accuracy of each Meter function against the Meter’s specifications.
T esting the V olt age Function To verify accuracy in the AC and DC voltage ranges, do the following: 1. T urn t he ro t ar y switch to “ V ” position . 2. Connect the Calibrator to the V Ω and CO M inputs on the Meter. 3. Set the Calibrator for the voltage and frequency from step 1 to 12 in Table 1.
T esting the Resist ance Function T o verify the accuracy of the resist ance function, do the following: 1. Connect the Calibrator to V Ω Hz and CO M on t he Me ter . 2. T u rn t he ro tary swi tch to Ω . 3. Apply the inputs for st ep 1-6 in T able 3.
T esting the Ampere Function T o verify the accuracy of AC current measurement function s, do the following: 1. Connect the Calibrator to the A and CO M inpu t s on t he Me ter . 2. T u rn the ro ta ry swit ch to A~. 3. Apply the inputs for step s 1-4 in T able 5.
T able 7 Frequency T est: Step Source Level Waveform Readin g 1 8.0Vp-p 2.00Hz Square Wa ve 1.98Hz to 2.02Hz 2 8.0Vp-p 80.00Hz Square Wa ve 79.90Hz to 80.10Hz 3 8.0Vp-p 800.0Hz Square Wa ve 799.0Hz to 801.0Hz 4 8.0Vp-p 8.000kHz Square Wa ve 7.990kHz to 8.
Calibration Procedure Recalibrate the meter: It is recommended that the meter may be calibrated once year . Use the following procedure to calibrate the meter . Envir on ment a l C ondi t ion 1. Perform calibration at an ambient temperature and relative humidity (23°C±2°C a nd R.
(E) DCA Calibration (V R7) 1. Rotate the rotary switch to DCA Function. 2. Connect the output of a DCA calibrator to V and COM input terminals of the meter. 3. Output DCA 5.000A from the calibrator. 4. Adjust VR7 until the display shows 5.000A ± 0.
