GB - 6 AL WA YS remov e key and/or wire from spark plug before assem bly , maintenance or service. Unintentional engine start up can cause death or serious injury .
GB - 7 Before cleaning, rem oving clogs or m aking any inspections, repa irs, etc.: disengage clutch(es), stop unit and engine, remove key , allow moving parts to stop. A llow hot parts to cool. Run unit a few minutes af ter clearing snow to prevent freeze-up of attachment.

GB - 9 Inst all Hea dlight (92102 2) (Figure 6) 1. R emove headlight from location under dash panel. Keep nut for inst allation. 2. Attach headlight to bolt on ri ght side of the dash. F asten with nut remov ed in step 1. 3. Plug wireharness into headlight.
GB - 10 . 6. Orient the chut e and pedestal to it s most vertical position and tighten pedest al hardware to 15 – 31 lbf-ft (20 – 42 N•m ) (Figure 7). Inst all Dischar ge Chute and Discharge Chute Rod (921017, 0 18) (Figure 10, 1 1 and 12) 1. G rease underside of discharge chute ring (if not already greased).
GB - 11 NOTE: After the chute rod has been inserted through the hex hole in the control assembly , placing the unit in the service position (see Service Position o n page 23) will ease alignment and installation of the hair pin.

GB - 16 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES See CONTROLS and FEA TURES on page 13 f or all Controls and Features locations. Dual Handle Interlock When Attachment Clutch and t hen T raction Drive Clutch are engaged, the Attachment Clutch will remain engaged (leve r down) if released.
GB - 17 Primer Bulb Pushing the prim er bulb in adds fuel for eas ier engine start. Refer to S tarting and Shut Off on page 21. S peed Selecto r (921013 , 017, 018 , 020, 023) Position the Speed Selector in the appropriate speed notch to control forwar d and reverse t ravel.
GB - 18 Snow Clean-Out T ool (Figure 17) T o clear the discharge chute: 1. Shut off the engine. 2. Wait 10 seconds and make sure impeller blades have s topped rotating. 3. R emove the sno w clean-out tool (1) from the auger housing and use it to remove the clog from the discharge chut e.
GB - 19 IMPORT AN T : DO NOT force frozen chute controls. If f rozen, take to warm place until controls are free. Discharge Chute Crank (921013, 0 19, 02 0, 022, 023 ) (Figure 20) IMPORT AN T : If chute does not s tay in set position, adjust as directed in SERVICE AND ADJU STMEN TS on p age 26 , or repair before operation.
GB - 20 Scraper Blade The scraper blade allows better contact with the surface being cleared. It also prevents damage to the hous ing from normal usag e. IMPORT ANT : DO NOT allow Scraper Blade to wear too far or Auger/Impeller housing will become damaged.
GB - 21 T o add fu el to fu el tank : 1. AL W A YS place unit in open or well- ventilated area. 2. Stop engine and allow to cool. 3. Clean fuel cap and surrounding area to prevent dirt from entering fuel tank. 4. R emove cap. NOTE: Refer to E ngine Manual for proper fuel type and t ank capacity .
GB - 22 Manual S t art 1. Turn discharge chute s traight ahead. 2. Make sure t hat the traction clutch and attachment drive clutc h levers are fully disengaged. 3. Push Prim er Bulb 2 or 3 times for cold engine. NOTE: When temperature is below -15° F (-26° C) additional priming may be needed.
GB - 23 T RAV ELING T o travel from one work area to another: 1. Set Throttle to Slow or Part-Throttle position. 2. 921013, 017, 018, 019, 020, 022 : Pres s down on handlebars enough to raise front of unit s lightly off surface. 921023 : Place the unit in the transport position (see T rack Angle on page 20).
GB - 24 MAINTENANCE SCHE DULE The chart below shows the recommended maintenance schedule that should be performed on a regular basis. More frequent service may be required. * After first five hours of operation. ** After f irst two hou rs of operation, thereafter every 25 hours.
GB - 25 CHECK AUGER GEARCASE IMPORT ANT : Proper oil level must be maintained. Gear cases are filled to the correct level at the factory . Unless there is evidence of leakage, no additional lubricant should be required. Check oil level each season or every 25 hours of operation.
GB - 26 SCRAPER BLADE IMPORT ANT : Damage to auger/impeller housing will result if blade wears down too far. Scraper blade is adjustable to compensate for wear . T o adjust scraper blade: 1. Tip unit back onto handleb ar , sup port housing and loosen nuts ret aining blade.
GB - 27 5. C heck function of remote wheel lock. If wheel lock does not function properly , remove bot tom cover to check cable slack. 6. Repeat steps 2 – 4 while watching cable to remove slack. 7. C heck function of remote wheel lock. If wheel lock does not function properly , take the unit to Dealer for repairs.
GB - 28 If chute does not rot ate freely: T ighten the cable by loosening the f orward adjustment nut, and then tightening the rear adjustment nut against the bracket unt il all cable slack is removed (Figure 30). MANUAL DISCHARGE CHUTE DEFLECTOR (921019) (Figure 31) Deflector must stay in selected position while blowing snow .
GB - 29 c. Engage the traction clutch. Unit should move for ward. d. St op unit. e. Shift speed selector into first reverse speed. f. Engage the traction clutch.
GB - 30 • If roller is 1/2 –7/ 8 in. (12.7 – 22.2 mm) from frame, go to Adjust the Attachment Clutch Cable Spring Extension on page 30. • If roller is more that 7/8 i n. (22.2 mm) from frame, loosen idler adjustment nut and move idler away from the belt, tighten adjustment nut and recheck roller clearance.
GB - 31 Check At tach ment Brake (Figure 39) 1. With t he clutch lever disengaged, brake pad must contact a ttachment belts. With clutch lever engaged, brake pad must be more than 1/16 in. (1.6 m m) from belts. If there is more than 1/16 in. (1.6 mm ) gap, go to Check Belt Finger Clearance on page 31.
GB - 32 4. T o adjust traction clutch (Figure 42): a. With the traction drive clutch lever disengaged, loosen the jam nut on the cable adjuster. b. Turn the adjuster body up the cable to decrease the distance between the clutch lever and handlebar . c.
GB - 33 10. R emove hex bolts securing housing to frame (two on each side). Tip housing and frame apart on pivot pin (Figure 44) . 1 1. Remove attachment drive belts from attachment pulley (hold brak e away from belt). Inst all ne w att achment d rive belt s: 1.
GB - 34 2. T o gain belt clearance, remove swing gate spacer and slide drive plate over so that finger clears stop hole in f rame and can swing past it (Figur e 46). 3. Pull idler aw ay from traction dr ive belt and remove belt from idler pulley , engine sheave and driven pulley (it may be necessary to turn engine pulley using recoil handle).
GB - 35 T RACK T E NSION ADJUSTMENT (9210 23) (Figure 48 and 49) Check the track tension by applying press ure on the track mi dway between the uppe r and rear track rollers. Deflection should be approximately 3/8 in. (9.6 mm) (Figure 48). If deflection is exces sive, tighten the tr ack tension.
GB - 36 SHORT T ER M IMPORT ANT : NEVER spray unit with high pressure wa ter or store unit outdoors. Run with attachment clutch engag ed a few minutes after each use to free unit of any loose or melting snow . Close fuel shut-off valve. Inspect unit for v isible signs of wear, breakage or damag e.
GB - 37 Engine stop s. 1. Out of fuel. 2. Fuel shut-off valve closed. 3. Mechanical jam in blower rake or impeller . 4. Polluted fuel supply . 5. Faulty spark plug. 6. Plugged fuel cap vent. 1.
