W arnin g and Safet y Instruc tions Read the op erati ng instru ctions be- fore using th is machi ne for th e first time. They cont ain impor tant infor- mation ab out the safety , use and maintenance of the machine . This will avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the mac hine.
The best materials are us ed in the manufactu re of this machine, and ever y care is taken to che ck all par ts. However , with time, de terioration of parts can occur , especially w ith such component s as ho ses, giving rise to leaks. This should be bor ne in mind if operating th e machine w ithout s upervi- sion.
If the co rrec t amo unt of d etergent is dispe nsed, the machine should not need to be desc aled. If, how ever , you do wish t o descale the mac hine only use proprietar y n on-corrosive de- scaling agents an d strictl y observe the instructio ns. The key to a goo d wash result is findin g the best combination of amount of detergent, te mperatur e, length of pr o- gramme and th e machine’ s te chnology .
Before using for the fi rst time Flush out any residual test water still in the machine as follows: Do not loa d the mach ine. Add a little detergent to compar t- ment j . Switch on the machine. Press the “Short wash” sel ector . Select the “COTTONS 60°C” pro- gramme.
Brief guide to correct washing The headings numbered ( 1 , 2 , 3 ,...) offer a brief st ep by st ep guide to the operating sequence. Before was hing 1 Prepare the wa sh load Empty all pockets. Foreign objects (e.g. nails, coin s, paper clips etc) can cause dama ge to textiles and compon ents in th e machine.
3 Load the drum Unfold washing a nd load loosely in the drum. T o achieve best results it is advis- able to mak e up mixe d loads cons ist- ing of both large and s mall items. This impr oves the washing e ffec t and helps distribut e the load ev enly during spin.
After washing 1 T urn the programme se lector to “Finish/Start”. 2 Press the “Door” button. Only r emove washing fr om the ma- chine once the drum has stopped turnin g, othe rwise you ma y seri- ously injure yourse lf. 3 Press the I-ON / O-OFF button.

Adding or remo ving washing W ashing can be added or removed after the programme has already star ted, when using the following pro- grammes: – COTTON S – MINIMUM IRON – QUICK W ASH 40°C – WOOLLENS –S t a r c h Press th e “Door” button in and hold it until the doo r springs open.
Adding dete rgen t All mode rn det ergents produced for automatic w ashing mach ines are suit- able, including liqu id, compact (co n- centrated) and special applic ation detergents. Use dispe nsing aids, e. g. balls, if t hese are supplied w ith the detergent.

Cleaning and c are Cleaning the washing machine Clean the casing with a mild non-ab- rasive d eterg ent or soa p and water . Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Clean the facia panel with a damp cloth an d dry with a so ft cloth . The dr um can be cleaned using a suitable proprietar y stainless s teel cleaner .
Cleaning the fluff filter and pump Check the fluff filter initially af ter 3 - 4 washes to ascertain ho w often i t is likely to requir e cleaning. With nor mal clea ning a pprox. 2 litres of water run out. If the drain outlet is clogged, more water will be retained in the machine (up to 25 litres ) .
Once the flow of water ceases , remove the fluff filter completely an d clean it. Remove an y foreign bodies (e. g. but- tons, coin s, etc. ) and fluff. T ur n the impe ller by hand to check that it is free to rotate. Any foreign ob- jects c ausing a n obstr uction should be removed.
T o clean the water inlet filters The was hing ma chine has two filte rs to protect the inlet v alves. Th ese filt ers should be chec ked ever y 6 months o r so, or more often if there are frequent in- terrupt ions to the water supply . T o clean the fil ter in the union in the open end of the inlet hose: First turn of f the sto pcock.

Opening the drum door in the event of a power failure Switch off the washing machine. Open the drain pump/f luff filter panel and drain off any water as described in the Section on Cle aning and care. Pull the ring of the door mech anism downwards, the door will open.

Install ation Installation surface Experie nce has shown th at a con cr ete floor is the mos t suitable installation sur- face fo r a washi ng ma chine. Concr ete floors ar e far le ss pr one to vibration dur- ing the spin cycle th an wooden floo r- boar ds or a surface with "so ft" pr ope r- ties.
Withdraw the two ba rs togeth er with the suppor t plate. Plug the t wo holes with the plast ic caps suppli ed. The machin e shou ld not be moved w ith- out the t ransit fitting in place . The transit f itting should be stored in a safe place fo r futur e use.
Levelling the machine The machine must be perf ectly level to ensure safe and pr oper operation. Incorrect installa tion may increase water an d electricit y consu mption. The screw feet can be adjus ted to le vel the machine: Unscrew the f oot o r feet u ntil the ma- chine stands lev el.
Plumbing Connection to wa ter supply The machine should be connected to a mains wa ter suppl y in acco rdance with standard regulations. The Germ an auth- orities do not require it to have a non-re- t.
Connection to the drainage system The machine drains via a drain pump with a deliv ery head of 1 metre. The drai n hose is 1.5 m l ong. It must not be k inked as th is restricts draina ge. The swive l elbow at th e end of the hose can be tur ned in e ither direction, or can be detached if required with a shar p twist an d pull.
Electrical conne ction This machin e is su pplied ready for con- nection to an a.c. single phase 230 - 240 V , 50 Hz su pply . The machine is supplied with a 2 m long mains cable with moulded plu g. The v oltage, rated load and fuse rating are given on the data pl ate.
Programmable functions - Selection With the prog rammable f unctions you can adapt t he machine t o your in divid- ual r equir ements. A func tion stays pr o- grammed in memor y u ntil it is can- celled. The following programmable func- tions are avala ble: A High water level Where rinse results are par ticularly im- portant.
