Economical us age The key to good wa sh results is finding the correct combinatio n of detergen t and tempe ratur e, and then al lowing the washing machine to optimize their usage through its pr ogramming. Pro- gram lengths can va ry for this reas on.
Preparing the Laundr y The headings n umbered ( 1 , 2 , 3 ,... ) show the operating sequence and ca n be used as a brief guide. Before washing 1 Prepare the wa sh load Empty all poc kets. Foreign objects left in pockets (e.g. nails, coins , paper clips, etc .
Preparing the Laundr y 2 Press the “Door” button to open the door 3 Load the machine Unfold the lau ndry an d place it in th e drum. For best results we recommend washing mixed lo ads consisting of both large and small it ems.
End of Program After washing 1 T urn the program selector switch to “Finish/Start” 2 Press the “ON/OFF” button. 3 Press the “Door” button. Do not attempt to remove laundry from the machine if the drum is turning. Y ou may seriously injure y ourself.

T o continue the program, turn the ma- chine back o n. T o change an incorrec tly selected program: T ur n the program selector switch to “Finish/Star t”.
Adding deterg ent Powder detergent should be a dded to comp artment j (main wash) and com- part ment i (pre wash, if n ecessary) at the beginning of each wash cycle. D ue to the Miele “Eco-Syst em”, 1 / 3 to 1 / 2 the manufacturer’ s recommended amount of dete rgent is generally sufficient for excellent wash results.

Delay star t/Time remaining indicat or Time display “H:min” The Time dis play has a dual funct ion. The Del ayed start is ac tivated b y pressing the button, or; It shows the time remaining in the wash program. Delay Start If the “Delay start” lamp is blinking, the start of the pr ogram can be delaye d up to 9 hou rs and 30 minutes.
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS Cleaning and care Cleaning the washing machine Clean the casing with a mild no n- abrasive dete rgent or soa p and water , and wipe dry with a s oft cloth. Clean the con trol panel with a damp cloth. The dr um can be cleaned us ing a stainless steel cle aner according to the manufact urer’ s inst ructions.
Cleaning and c are Cleaning the drain pump and lint trap. Occasionally small objects, (buttons, coins, etc.), may find their way into the lint trap. It is a goo d idea to occasion- ally check the lint trap to e nsure that it is free of foreign objects.
Cleaning and C are Once the flow of wa ter stops, remove the lint t rap and clean it. Remove any f oreign objects or lint. T ur n the drain pump impeller (in the back of th e chamber) by hand to check t hat it r otates fr eely . Any foreign objects should be removed.
Cleaning and c are Cleaning the water inlet filters. The was hing machin e has two water inlet filt ers to protect eac h inlet v alve. T o clean the filter in the inlet hose: T urn off th e valve. Carefully unscrew t he inlet hos e from the valv e by tur ning the connecto r counterclockwise using a wr ench if necessary .

Problem solving guide Opening the drum door in the event of a po wer failure Switch off the washing mac hine. Remove the flap opener from behind the deterge nt drawer facia panel. Open the flap (in th e machine plinth). Place a dis h or bowl under t he spout.
Problem solving guide Pull the emergen cy door latch down- wards using a spoon h andle (see il- lustration). The machine door will then op en. Please note tha t: on ma chines with lef t hand hingeing the emergency door latch is loc ated behind a second ac- cess f lap in the ce ntre of the plint h.

INST ALLA TION INSTRUCTIONS Insta llation Installation surface Experi ence ha s shown th at a con cr ete floor is the most suitable sur face for a washing mac hine. Concr ete floors ar e far less p r one to vi bration d uring the spin cycle than woo den floors.
Install ation T ur n the right- side shipping strut 90° clockwise. Withdraw t he two strut s togeth er with the suppor t plate. Plug the two holes with the plastic caps supp lied. Movement of the m achine without th e shipping strut s in place should be kept to a minimum.
Install ation Levelling the mac hine The machine must be perfect ly level to ensure safe and proper operation. If necessar y adjust t he front and back legs as follows: Unscr ew the feet unti l the m achine stands level. Hold the foot tight using a wrench or pliers.
Install ation Please note the f ollo wing: – The machine s hould never be oper- ated without the front panel firmly in place. – The electrical outlet and water faucets should be clos e to the ma- chine and easily accessible. – The sl ides pr ovided with the ma- chine will prevent damage to the floor while moving the washer into position.
Install ation Installing the front panel A front panel must be installed on the washer b efor e it can be safe ly oper- ated. It can be custom m ade to m atch the surrounding cabine try o r furmit ure.
Install ation Right-hand hinge Left-hand hinge Open the door and r emove the lo wer screw from the upper hinge. Using the screws pr ovided, loosely attach t he fr ont p anel th the mac hine door through the now empty lower hinge hole and t he corresponding hole on th e unhinged side of th e door (see illustration ).
Install ation Sizing the toekick The appliance toekick visible below the door can be partially conceated by in- stalling a custom made toekick that matches the adjacent cabinetr y . Please note: The de pth of r ecess and height of t he appliance to ekick cannot be altered.
Install ation Any residual water left in the machine fr om the factor y test- ing pr ocess can be flushed out as follo ws : Do not put any laundry in the ma- chine. Add a small amo unt of dete rgent to compart ment j . T ur n on t he machine. Press the “Rapid wash” button.
Plumbing Connect the c old water supply hose (hose mark ed blue) to t he cold water valve and the hot water supply hose (hose marked red) to the hot wat er valve. T ur n on the valves and check for leaks. The water pressure must be within 15-145 p si (1- 10 ba r).
Electrical co nnection GROUNDING INSTR UC TIONS This appliance must be grounded. In the event of a malfunct ion or break- down, grounding will reduce the risk of electric s hock by providing a path of least resistanc e for th e electric cu rrent. This appliance is e quipped with a cord having an equipment grounding con- ductor and plug.

Programmable functions T o check if the function has been stored: Carry out Steps 1 to 4. If the “Rinse 1- 2” lamp lights up, the programmable function is activated. Press the “ON/OFF” button. This fi- nishes the che ck of the pr ogram- mable function.
