It must only be used as specified in these oper ating instructions for cleaning domestic dishware and cutlery .

Chil dren should be supervised t o ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Keep small childr en away from the appliance at all times to avoid the risk of injury .

Defective co mponents should be replaced by Miele original parts only . Only with these parts can the manufacturer guar antee the safe‐ ty of the appliance.
IMPORT ANT SAFETY INS TRUCTIONS 14 Pr oper installation The dishwasher must be install ed and connected in compliance with the installation plan. Be car eful when installing the dishwasher . Wear pr otective gloves to avoid injury on any sharp metal components.
IMPORT ANT SAFETY INS TRUCTIONS 15 Do not sit or lea n on the opened door . This could cause the dish‐ washer to tip and be damaged, and you could get injur ed. Dishes can be very hot at the end of a progr am. Allow them to cool until they are comfortable enough t o handle before unloading.
IMPORT ANT SAFETY INS TRUCTIONS 16 Please obser ve the information given in "T echnical data" r egard‐ ing the capacity of the dishwasher . Accessories Use only ge nuine original Miele parts. If spare parts or accesso‐ ries from other manufactur ers are used, the warr anty may become invalid.
Caring for the envir onment 17 Disposal of packaging material The cardboar d box and packaging pr o‐ t ect the appliance during shipping. These materials ar e biodegradable and recyclable. Please r ecycle. Disposal of your old appliance Old appliances may contain materials th at can be recycled.
Before using for the first time 18 Opening the door At the end of progr ams wi th a drying phas e (see "Pr ogram overview"), the door will open automatically a little in order t o help the drying process. This function can be deactivated if pr e‐ ferred (see "Settings menu - AutoOpen").
Before using for the first time 19 Basic settings Open the d oor . T urn the dishwasher on with the button. The welcome screen will appear when the dishwasher is turned on for the first time. Language The display will change automatically to the scr een for setting the language.
Before using for the first time 20 Wat er hardness The display changes to the water har d‐ ness setting. – The dishwasher must be progr am‐ med for the wat er har dness in your area. – Y our local water supplier can t ell you the wat er har dness level in your area.
Before using for the first time 21 Before using the appliance for the first tim e, you require: – Appro x. 2 qt (2 l) of water – Appro x. 2 kg (4 lbs) of dishwasher salt – Domestic dishwasher deter gent – Rinse aid formulated for domestic dishwashers Every dishwasher is test ed at the fac‐ t ory .
Before using for the first time 22 Filling the salt reservoir Important! Before filling the salt r es‐ er voir with dishwasher salt for the first time, you must fill it with appro x. 2 qt (2 l) of water to enable the salt t o dissolve. Once the dishwasher has been used for the first time, ther e is always suf‐ ficient water in the r eservoir .
Before using for the first time 23 Salt refill indicator Fi ll the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt for reactivation when Refill salt appears in the display (If it appears during a progr am, wait until the end of the progr am). Confirm with OK .
Before using for the first time 24 Rinse aid Rinse aid is needed to pr event spotting on dishes and glassware. The rinse aid is filled in the reservoir and the set amount will be automatically dosed. Filli ng the rinse aid reservoir with deter gent will damage the reservoir .
Before using for the first time 25 Add rinse aid only until it is visible in the opening. The rinse aid reservoir holds appr ox. 3.7 o z. (110 ml). Close the flap firmly so that it clicks int o place. Otherwise water can ent er the rinse aid reservoir during a pr o‐ gram.
L oading the dishwasher 26 Tips Remove coarse food residues fr om the dishwar e. There is no need t o rinse items under runni ng water! Do not wash it ems soiled with ash, sand, wax, grease, or paint in the dishwasher . These will damage the dishwasher .
L oading the dishwasher 27 Items not recommended for dish‐ washing – Wooden cutlery, cutting boar ds and dishwar e or it ems with wooden parts – Craft it ems, antiques, valuable vases, and decor ative glasswar e – Plastic items which ar e not heat-re‐ sistan t: the high temper atures in the dishwasher may cause them to melt or lose shape.

L oading the dishwasher 32 Upper basket F or safety reasons, do not oper‐ ate the dishwasher without the upper and lower baskets in place (ex cept when running the Tall items progr am, if available). Use the upper bask et for small, light‐ weight and delicate items such as cups, saucers, glasses, dessert bowls, etc.
L oading the dishwasher 33 XXL cup rack (depending on model) The cup rack can be set at two differ ent widths so that it can also acc ommodate large cups. P ull the cup r ack upwards and click it back into position at the r equired width. Glassware rack This rail is designed t o hold glasses with long stems secur ely .
L oading the dishwasher 34 Adjusting the upper basket In order t o gain more space for taller it ems the upper basket can be adjust ed on three levels with 3/4" (2 cm) be‐ tween each level. The upper basket can also be set at an angle with one side high and the other side low .
L oading the dishwasher 35 Lower bask et F or larger and heavier items such as plates, serving platters, saucepans, bowls, etc. Glasses, cups and small items such as saucers can also be placed in the lower basket. Do not place thin, deli‐ cate glasswar e in the lower basket.
L oading the dishwasher 36 Glass rack The glass rack can be r aised to make more r oom for tall items. S tem glasswar e, e.g. wine glasses or champagne flutes, can be leaned against the glass rack or suspended from it. Y ou can set the glass r ack at two differ‐ ent heights.
L oading the dishwasher 37 Hinged spikes The spikes at the front ar e used for washing plates, soup bowls, platters, dessert bowls, and saucers. The spikes can be lowered t o make mor e r oom for large items, e.g. pots, pans and dishes. P r ess the yellow lever downwards , and then lower the spikes .
L oading the dishwasher 38 Grates and filt ers Y ou can also wash Miele gr ates, the Miel e griddle plate, and Miele r ange hood filters. Select the Grates & Filters pr ogr am for optimum dishwashing results. P r otruding parts can damage the dishwasher .
L oading the dishwasher 39 Griddle plate L oad the griddle plat e in the bottom basket. T o do so. fold over the front row of spikes. Arr ange the griddle plat e with the grilling surface facing upwards t o guarant ee better drying. Filters Y ou can wash two r ange hood filters in the upper b asket and two in the bottom basket at once.
L oading the dishwasher 40 Cutlery 3D cutlery tray (depending on model) Arr ange the cutlery in the tr ay as shown. T o make unloading much easier , cutler y shou ld be grouped in zones, one for knives, one for forks, one for spoons, etc.
L oading the dishwasher 41 Cutlery basket (depending on model) The cutlery basket can be placed any‐ wher e on the fr ont rows of spikes in the lower basket. T o avoid the risk of injury, knives and forks should be placed with the han‐ dles upwards in the basket.
Operation 42 Detergent O nly use deter gents formulated for domestic dishwashers. Refer to the manufactur er's packaging as t o whether T ab products are suitable for the water har dness level in your area. Please note that the cleaning and dry‐ ing results of T ab detergents can vary greatly .
Operation 43 Adding detergent P r ess the opening catch on the de‐ ter gent dispenser . The flap will spring open. The flap is always open at the end of a pr ogr am.
Operation 44 T urning on T urn on the water supply if it is turned off. Open the door . Mak e sure the spr ay arms are not ob‐ structed. Pr ess the button for at least 2 sec‐ onds. The progr am selected will appear briefly in the display and the appr opriat e indi‐ cator light will come on.
Operation 45 Starting a progr am S tart the progr am by closing the door within four seconds of the last press of a button. The progr am will begin.
Operation 46 Energy management T o save energy, the dishwasher will switch off aut omatically 10 minutes af‐ ter the last time a button has been pressed or aft er the end of the progr am (see "Settings menu - Optimize stand‐ by"). P r ess the button to switch the dishwasher back on.
Operation 47 T urning off At the end of a pr ogram: Open the door . The dishwasher can be switched off at any time using the button. T urning the dishwasher off during a pro‐ gr am st ops the progr am. T urning the dishwasher off during the run-u p to a delay start time (Fle xiT imer) will also stop the pr ocess.
Operation 48 Interrupting a progr am The progr am will be interrupted as soon as you open the door . After four seconds, the indicator light of the selected pr ogram will flash and the message Continue with OK will appear in the display . Pr ess the OK and close the door within four seconds.
Options 49 Options Y ou can select and deselect the options usi ng the appropriat e buttons and the display . Open the door . T urn the dishwasher on with the button. The indicator light ne xt to the progr am sel ected will come on. Se lect a progr am.
Options 50 FlexiTimer with EcoStart The FlexiTimer gi ves you three ways of starting the progr am by means of de‐ laying the start. Y ou can set the start time or the finish time of a progr am. Y ou also have the option of taking ad‐ vantage of time variable economy rat es of electricity using the FlexiTimer func‐ tion.
Options 51 Start at With the Start at function, you set the e xact time at which you want the pr o‐ gram t o start. Use the arr ow butt ons to set the hour and confirm with OK . The hour will be saved and the minute number block will be highlighted.
Options 52 EcoStart The FlexiTimer function allows you to take advantage of time variable econo‐ my rat es of electricity . Before you can use this option, you must set up to three electricity r ate time zones (see "Settings menu - EcoStart").

Switch the dishwasher on with the butt on. Release this button as soon as the background lighting lights up in the display .
Settings menu 56 Language The display can be set to appear in one of sever al differ ent languages. Y ou can change the language in the display via the Language sub-menu. Select the language you want as well as the cou ntry, if appropriate, and confirm with OK .
Settings menu 57 W ater hardness This appliance is fitted with a water soft ener . The dishwasher must be progr ammed for the water har dness in your area. – The dishwasher must be progr am‐ med for the wat er har dness in your area. – Y our local water supplier can t ell you the wat er har dness level in your area.
Settings menu 58 Rinse aid Y ou can adjust the rinse aid dosage for best r esults. The rinse aid dosage is set in stages from 0 t o 6. It is set to 3 at the factory . The dosage can turn out to be higher than the set valu e due to the automatic adjustment of the Automatic p r ogram.
Settings menu 59 Setting the electricity rate times Before you can use the FlexiTimer op‐ tion, you must set at least one electrici‐ ty r at e time. Use the arr ow butt ons to select the electricity rat e time (R1-R3) you want to set and confirm with OK .
Settings menu 60 Deleting the electricity rate times Y ou can delete the settings for an electricity rat e time and in doing so deactivate the FlexiTimer option for this time zone. Use the arr ow butt ons to select the electricity rat e time (R1 - R3) you want to delete and confirm with OK .
Settings menu 61 BrilliantLight This dishwasher has interior lighting. When the door is open, the lighting will switch off aut omatically after 15 mi‐ nutes. The interior lighting can be switched off. Select the setting you want and con‐ firm with OK .
Settings menu 62 Soak Y ou can use this function to loosen dried -on food residues in the pr ogram selected. Once activated, this function will be carried out with all progr ams until you deactivate it. If you are using powder dishwasher de‐ ter gent, add approx.
Settings menu 63 V olume A sequence of buzzer t ones will sound at the end of the pr ogr am or if there is a fault as long as the buzzer has been ac‐ tivated. Buzzer in the event of a fault The buzzer in the event of a fault will soun d four times at intervals with a short pause between each set of tones.
Settings menu 64 F actor y default settings Y ou can r eset all settings to the factory default settings. Select Reset and confirm with OK . Closing the Settings menu Y ou can e xit the Settings menu using Close . Select Close and confirm with OK .
Cleaning and care 65 Check and clean your dishwasher regularly . This will help avoid prob‐ lems and faults. All sur faces are susceptible t o scratching.
Cleaning and care 66 Cleaning the door front I f soiling remains longer , it may happen that the surfaces can be‐ come discolored or changed. Remove any soiling immediately . Cle an the front with a solution of warm water and a little dishwashing liquid applied with a soft sponge.
Cleaning and care 67 Filter system The filter system in the base of the wash cabinet pr events food fr om being redeposit ed on dishes. It also protects the circulation pump fr om damage caused by foreign objects. This dishwasher must not be u sed without all the filters in place! Collection of coarse soil may cause the filt ers to clog.
Cleaning and care 68 T o clean the inside of the filter , the flap must be opened: P r ess catches together in the di‐ rection of the arr ows as shown, and open the filter . Rin se all the filters under running wa‐ ter . Then close the flap so that the catch engages.
