- 3 - 3 Back Panel The diagram (fig1.0) below shows the bro adband router’s back panel. The rou ter’s back panel is divided into three sectio ns, LAN , WAN and Reset : 1) Local Area Netw ork (LAN) The 4 LAN ports are for you to connect to your L AN’s PCs, printer servers, hu bs and switches etc.

- 12 - 12 3.4 Wireless Setup Wireless Access Point builds a wireless LAN an d can let all PCs equipped with IEEE802.11b/g wireless network adaptor to connect to your Intr anet. It supports WEP encryption and MAC address filter to enhance the sec urity of your wireless network.

- 23 - 23 3.6 Firewall Configuration Port Fil tering The firewall not only can obstruc t outside intruders from intruding your system , but also restricting the LAN users. Port Filtering can be used to restrict certain type of data packets fro m your LAN to Internet through the Router b y adding it on the Current Filteri ng Table.
