S CANNER O PERATION I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTIONS Audible When in operation the Stratos S provides audible feedback that indicates the st atus of the unit and the current scan. Eig ht settings are available for the tone of t he beep (norma l, 6 alternate tones and no tone) plus three volume settings.
S CANNER O PERATION I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTIONS Visual White and blue LEDs are loca ted near the bottom corner of the vertical output window on the Stratos S . When the scanner is ON , the flashing or constant, il lumination of the LEDs indica tes the status of the Stratos S and the current scan.
S CANNER O PERATION I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTIONS Failure Modes Flashing Blue a nd One Razzberry Tone This indicates that the scanner has experien ced a laser subsyste m failure.
S CANNER O PERATION I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTIONS Diagnostic Indicator Dis play There is a two-digit error code displ ay located under horizonta l output window near the Metrologic logo on the platter (see figure below).
S CANNER O PERATION I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTIONS Diagnostic Indicator Dis play E RROR C ODE D ESCRIPTION 06 COMMUNICATION ERROR – The RS232 data line is be ing held active. This causes the scanner to read a “break” signal constantly and contin uous attempts are made to enter MetroSet configuration mode.
S CANNER O PERATION I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTIONS Diagnostic Indicator Dis play E RROR C ODE D ESCRIPTION 25 LASER #2 (RIGHT HORIZONTAL) HIGH CURRENT WARNING – The laser in the vertic al scanning subsystem is drawing excessive current. This could be a warni ng for a future total failure.
S CANNER O PERATION P OWER S AVE M ODES The MS2220 has five configurabl e power save modes. Refer to the MetroSelect Configuration Guide for add itional information on Power Save Modes. 1. Blink Power Save Mode: Blinks the laser OFF & ON after a configured perio d of non-use.
S CANNER O PERATION B EEPER O PTIONS AND B UTTON F UNCTIONS Changing the Beeper To ne Beeper tones may be configured incrementa l ly using the following bar code. The ne w tone will be heard followed by a short pause. Two more new tones will be he ard signifying the new setting has b een stored in memory.
S CANNER O PERATION S TAR TUP When the scanner first receives po wer the white LED will flash, the bl ue LED will turn on and the scanner will beep once ( the white LED will remain on for the dur ation of the beep ). The scanner is now ready to scan.
S CALE O PERATION S CALE Z EROING After the unit has been officially calibrated (s ee page 42) the sca le can be re-zeroed by pr essing the scale zeroing button on either the unit or on the remote display stan d. When the scale is at ze ro the amber LED will be illuminat ed.
S CALE O PERATION C ALIBRATION The scanner/scale must be calibrated if: it is a first time installation the scale cannot be re-zeroed the calibration verification tests indic ate errors there is a change in the units of measure [i.e.
S CALE O PERATION C ALIBRATION Priming the Scale for Calibra tion (lbs. or kg) Prime the scale before starting either method of calibration. Calibrate the scanner/scale after the unit is installed in the checkout countertop. It is important to use the correct certified (lb.
S CALE O PERATION C ALIBRATION Scale Calibration Procedu re (lbs. or kg) with Remote Display 1. Temporarily Remove the platter and pl ace it in a safe location.
