6 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS Press the PRESET EQ button to cycle through the preset EQ settings, or to turn the EQ off. Each press of the PRESET EQ button will cycle as follows: CLASSIC, ROCK, POP, Off. 1 PRESET EQ Press the FUNCTION button to select “AUX” to listen to the external unit.
7 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) MUTE To temporarily mute the sound, press the MUTE button on the remote control; the Mute indicator will appear in the display and the sound will be muted. Press the MUTE button again to restore the sound and the Mute indicator will disappear from the display.
8 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) Press the POWER ON/STANDBY button to turn the unit on; the STANDBY indicator will go out. 1 Press the MEMORY/TIME SET button ❶ (PROGRAM/CLK-SET on remote); “MEMORY” will blink in the display.
9 Press the POWER ON/STANDBY button to turn the unit on; the STANDBY indicator will go out. 1 The CD player will read the table of contents on the disc and the total number of tracks and total playing time on the disc will appear in the display. CD 4 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button and insert a CD with the label side facing up.
10 After you insert the disc into the CD player and the total number of tracks appear on the display, you may press either the TUNING/SKIP/Search ❶ or ❷ button to select a specific track for playback. 1 2 1 You can also use the Direct Track Selection buttons ❶ on the remote to directly select a track.
11 To repeat a single track, press the REPEAT/PRESET UP button ❶ once; “REPEAT” will blink in the display. Press the TUNING/SKIP/ Search ❷ or ❸ button to select the specific track that you wish to repeat. When the desired track number appears in the display, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ❿ ) button ❹ to begin playback.
12 Press the TUNING/SKIP/Search ❶ or ❷ button to select the first track that you wish to program. When the desired track number appears in the display, press the MEMORY/TIME SET button ❸ again. 1 3 2 4 Press either the TUNING/SKIP/ Search ❶ or ❷ button to select the next track you wish to program.
13 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) With the power off, press and hold the TIMER/SLEEP button ❶ (TIMER on the remote) until “TIMER” blinks in the display. Press and hold the MEMORY/ TIME SET button ❷ until timer hour digits blink in the display.
