12 ABOUT DISCS PLA Y ABLE DISCS: The following discs can be played back on this DVD player: DISC TYPES: DVD Data on most DVDs is divided into sections called “titles” and then into subsections called “chapters”, each of which is given a title or chapter number .

14 SETUP MENU The setup menu lets you customize the DVD player by allowing you to select various language preferences, set up a parental level, turn captions and screen saver on and off, adjust what type of television screen you have and more.
15 SETUP MENU (CONTINUED) P AN SCAN Select when the unit is connected to a conventional TV . Video material formatted in the Pan Scan style is played back in that style (the left and right edges are cut off). LETTER BOX: Select when the unit is connected to a conventional TV .
16 SETUP MENU (CONTINUED) When this option is set to ON, captions will appear on the screen for the hearing impaired. When this option is set to OFF , captions will NOT appear on the screen.
17 SETUP MENU (CONTINUED) STEREO: Select this to set the Dolby Digital output to Stereo mode. L-MONO: Select this to set the Dolby Digital output to left mono mode, meaning it will reproduce the left mono signal to the Left and Right channels.

20 BASIC OPERA TION (GENERAL) Press the 3D button repeatedly to achieve the highest quality sound. The following surround ef fects will appear on the TV screen when you press the 3D button repeatedly:.

After loading, “DVD” will appear in the display and the menu screen of the DVD should appear . Caring for Discs • Treat the disc carefully . Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fi ngers to come in contact with the shiny , unprinted side of the disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the disc label. • Clean the disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth.
