1 Thank you for purchasing the Memorex audio system. The serial number of your unit can be found on a label on the bottom of the cabinet. We suggest that you record the serial number in the space provided below in case this information is ever needed at a future date.
2 Before using the unit, be sure to read all operating instructions carefully. Please note that these are general precautions and may not pertain to your unit. For example, this unit may not have the capability to be connected to an outdoor antenna. 1.
3 PREP ARA TION FOR USE Unpacking and Setup • Carefully remove the unit from the display carton and remove all packing material from the unit itself. • The detachable AC power cord is packed in the carton separately from the unit. Make sure that the AC power cord is not accidentally discarded with the carton or packing material.

5 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS Slide the FUNCTION switch to the AM or FM position as desired. NOTE: If you select the FM band, be sure to raise the FM rod antenna and extend it to its full length. 1 Slide the FUNCTION switch to the OFF position to turn off the radio off.
6 PLA YING COMP ACT DISCS NORMAL PLAYBACK This CD player is designed to play all kinds of Audio Discs and MP3 CD ROMS, such as CD recordables and rewritables.
7 During CD playback, if you wish to pause the disc momentarily, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ) butto n. Playback stops but the disc continues to spin and the time blinks in the display. 1 Press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ) button again to release Pause and resume normal CD playback.
8 To repeat a single track, press the REPEAT button ❶ once: “ ” will appear in the display. Press the SKIP/Search or button ❷ to select the specific track that you wish to repeat. When the desired track number appears in the display, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ) button ❸ to begin playback.
9 Press the SKIP/Search or button ❶ to select the first track that you wish to program. When the desired track number (Example: Track 5) appears in the display, press the PROGRAM button ❷ again. The display will then show, “P:02” indicating program 2 is ready to be set.
10 It is also possible to use the Program and Repeat functions together to repeat a specific program indefinitely. First, program the tracks you wish to hear in the order you wish to hear them, as described on the previous page. Then, press the REPEAT button twice.
11 SEARCHING THROUGH MP3 TRACKS/FILES You can search the contents of the MP3 albums (if burned on CD) as follows: Press the FIND button once and the track/file starting with the letter “A” will appear in the display. 1 When the desired track/file appears, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ) button to play the track/file.

Caring for Compact Discs • Treat the disc carefully. Handle the disc only by its edges.
