5 POWER SOURCE CONNECTIONS AC : Use the AC polarized line cord included with the unit for operation on AC power. Insert into a conveniently located AC outlet having 120V, 60Hz. NOTE: The AC plug supplied with the unit is polarized to help minimize the possibility of electric shock.

7 OPERA TION Rotate the ECHO control clock- wise to increase the echo or counterclockwise to decrease the echo. 1 ECHO Rotate the TONE control clock- wise to increase the higher tone response. 1 TONE Rotate the BALANCE control clockwise to hear the music and vocals or counterclockwise to hear the music only.
8 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) Press the POWER button to turn the unit on; the POWER ON indicator will light. 1 Press the POWER button to turn the unit off; the POWER ON indicator will turn off. 4 Adjust the MASTER VOLUME ❶ and TONE ❷ controls as desired.
9 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) TO PLA Y A CD Slide the FUNCTION switch to the CDG position. Insert a CD as described in the TO INSERT A CD section on page 8. 1 To start from a speci fi c track, locate the track using the SKIP/Search ❶ or ❷ button and press the PLAY/ PAUSE ( ❿ / ) button ❸ .

NOTES: • Programming is the ability to preselect the order in which a series of tracks will be played. • Each track may be stored in the program memory as many times as desired. • As each track is played, its track number will be displayed. You can move forward or backward through the programmed tracks with the SKIP/Search or button.
12 Press the POWER button ❶ to turn the unit on; the POWER ON indicator will light. Slide the FUNCTION switch ❷ to the TAPE position. 2 1 1 Adjust the MASTER VOLUME ❶ and TONE ❷ controls as desired. 2 1 4 Press the PLAY ( ❿ ) button to begin playback.
13 Insert a prerecorded tape into Deck 2 and a blank cassette tape into Deck 1. For high speed dubbing, slide the SPEED DUBBING switch to the HIGH position.
14 Press the STOP/EJECT ( ) button on Deck 1 to open the Cassette Door and insert a cassette with the open end facing down. 1 Press the PA US E ( ) b ut ton ❶ , then press the RECORD () b utton ❷ ; the PLAY button will be automatically depressed. 1 2 3 Slide the FUNCTION switch to the CDG position and insert a CD or CD+G disc.
15 Press the STOP/EJECT ( ) button on Deck 1 to open the Cassette Door and insert a cassette with the open end facing down. 1 Press the RECORD () b utton (the PLAY button will be automatically depressed) to start recording. 3 Slide the FUNCTION switch to the RADIO position and tune a station.
16 SAFEGUARD AGAINST ACCIDENT AL ERASURE When a new recording is made, any program material previously recorded is automatically erased and only the new recording remains. To safeguard valuable recordings from being erased accidentally, the cassette and the deck are equipped with a special device.
17 Caring for Compact Discs • Treat the compact disc carefully. Handle the compact disc only by its edges. Never allow your fi ngers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the compact disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc.
