5 S Mix and pour fuel in an outdo or area on bare ground; s tore fuel in a c ool, dry, well venti - lated plac e; and us e an appr oved, mark ed conta iner for all fuel purpos es. Wi pe up all fuel s pills befor e starti ng saw . S M ove at least 10 feet ( 3 meters) fr o m fuel- ing site bef ore start ing engine.
6 S Keep a good, fir m grip on the s aw w ith both hands when t he engine is running and don’t let go. A firm grip w ill help you reduc e kic kbac k and maintain control of the s aw . Keep the fingers of y our left hand enc ir- cling and y our left thumb under the front handlebar .

8 5. R eturn adjus tment kn ob handle to original posit ion. Ensur e teeth of adjust ment knob handle are enga ged with notc hes in the chain br ake and adjustment kn ob handle is la ying flat. 9 Oil Cap Fu el m ix c ap FU ELIN G ENG INE WAR NI N G : Remove fuel c ap slowly when refueling. This engin e is c ertified to oper ate on unleaded gasol ine. Before operation, gas oline must be mixed w ith a good quality 2- cyc le air-c ooled engine oil des igned to be mix ed at a ratio o f 40:1.

11 Natural c onditions that c an caus e a tree to fall in a partic ular direc tion include: S The wind direc tion and speed. S The lean of the t ree. The lean of a tree might not be apparent due to unev en or sloping terrain. Us e a plumb or lev el t o de- termine the direc tion of tree lean.
12 Overcut ting begins on the top side of the log with the s aw against the l og. When ov ercut- ting use light downw ard press ure. Ove rcu tting Undercutti ng Undercutti ng involv es cutting on the under- side of the log w ith top of saw agains t the log.
13 S Ma ke you r fist cut 1/3 of the w ay through the bottom of the limb. S Ne xt ma ke a 2n d cu t al l the w ay through the limb . Then cut a thir d over cut leaving a 1 to 2 inc h c ollar from the trunk of the tree.
14 Replac e guide bar when the groove is wor n, the guide bar is bent or c rack ed, or when exc ess heating or burring of the rails occ urs. If replac ement is nec ess ary , us e only the guide bar specified for your saw in the re pair parts list or on the dec al locat ed on the chain s aw .
15 TROUBLE CAUSE REMEDY Engine will not star t or will run only a few sec onds after star ting. 1. Ignition s witc h of f. 2. Engine flooded. 3. Fuel tank empty. 4. Spark plug not fir ing. 5. Fuel not r eaching car buretor . 1. Move ignit ion switc h to ON.
