ProGuard800™ -5- Chapter One: Introduction and Overv iew This user manual explains all you need to know about yo ur ProGuard800 security system and provides step-by-step instructions for all t he system’s user functions.
-6- © MARMIT EK 1.2: System Monitoring When an event occurs within the system, the control panel sends a message to your monitoring service describing the exact nature of the event. T his enables the monitoring service to take the required action. System monitoring can implement either regular telephone or cellular communication.
ProGuard800™ -7- Chapter T wo: The User Interface There are several methods you can use to o perate the system. Apart from the keypad on the front panel, your sy stem may include a number of peripheral devices such as keypads and keyfobs. This chapter provides a brief introduct ion to each of the devices you can use to operate the system.
-8- © MARMIT EK Serv ice Call Button The Service Call button enables you to contact the monitoring service and talk to an operator. Press and hold down the Service Call key for a few seco nds to initiate a service call.
ProGuard800™ -9- 2.4: Wireless Keypad The system supports up to four w ireless keypads. You can use the keypad as an arming station, perform basic home automation functions and generate a panic alarm in the event of emergency. Numeric Keypad The numeric keypad allow s you to arm or disarm the sy stem by entering a user code.
-10- © MARMIT EK Chapter Three: Arming and Disarming Arming can be defined as activating t he system. When the system is armed, it monitors the zones that are protected by the sensors. If a sensor detects an intrusion, the system generates an alarm .
ProGuard800™ -11- A rm ing w ith a K eyf ob To arm the system using a key fob: • Press the relevant button on your key fob (see 2.3: Keyfobs); the exit delay begins to count down. At the end of the exit delay, the sy stem is armed. Forced A rming Forced arming enables you to arm when the system is not ready .
-12- © MARMIT EK 3.3: Arm Status Indication The system’s arm status is displayed on the front panel only. The follow ing table explains the various arm stat us descriptions that appear on the LCD display. This… Means… DISARMED The system is disarmed.
ProGuard800™ -13- A rm Status Reply On receiving an Arm Status request message, the system returns a status message to the sender. This message includes the system status and the descriptor of the user or the device used to arm/disarm the system.
-14- © MARMIT EK Chapter F o ur: P a nic Alarms Panic alarms enable you to send a message to t he monitoring service in the event of an emergency. There are various types of panic alarm and several methods you can use to generate them.

X-10 Home Automation enables you to control up to 16 individual lights and appliances around the home. In this sect ion, we shall refer to these lights and appliances as HA units.

ProGuard800™ -19- Chapter Six: T elecontrol The ProGuard800 control panel offers a range of Telecontrol features that provide remote access via the telephone.
-20- © MARMIT EK The following commands are available: • Press “ 2 ” for Two-Way Audio. o If the T WA mode is defined as “Simplex” (see 6.5: Simplex Mode), the audio channel opens in Listen mode (microphone active/speaker mute). T o switch to Speak mode, press “ 1 ” on your telephone.

ProGuard800™ -23- 7.2: Zone Bypassing/Unbypassing When a zone is bypassed, its sensor is ignored by the system and does not generate an alarm when triggered. To bypass or unbypass a zone: 1. F rom the Bypass Zones menu, select Bypass/Unbyp. [21]. 2.
-24- © MARMIT EK Code 29: Telecontrol Code The T elecontrol code is designed to enable the user to perfor m a number of tasks via their telephone using DTMF commands. Using this code, the user can call their system to arm and disarm, cancel the siren or establish T w o-Way Audio communication.
ProGuard800™ -25- 7.4: Follow Me The Follow Me feature is designed to notify you w hen events have occurred w ithin your security system. This notific ation may be an SMS message to y our mobile phone.
-26- © MARMIT EK 7.6: Service Menu The Service menu includes various functions that enable you to test y our system effectively. You can gain access to the Service menu using t he Master code. Set Time & Date To set the time: 1. From the Service menu, select Set Time/Date, Set Time [7011].
