4 18. Maintain tools with care . Keep cutting tools sharp and c lean. Properly maintained tools with sharp cutting edge are less lik ely to bind and are easi er to control. 19. Check for misalignment or binding of moving pa r ts, breakage of parts, and an y other condition that m ay affect th e tool’ s operation.

10 Switch action CA UTION: • Before inser ti ng the batt er y car trid ge into the tool, alwa ys ch eck to see th at the switch tr igger actuates proper ly a nd retur n s to t he “ OFF ” posi tion wh en released . T o star t the too l, simply pull the switch tri gger .

12 When not us ing the driver bit, keep it in the bi t holde rs. Bits 45 mm (1-3/4 ” ) long can be kept th ere. OPERA TION Screwdriving operation Place the p oint of the driver bit in t he screw head an d apply pressure to the t ool. Sta r t the tool sl owly and then increa se the speed gradually .
13 Drilling operation First, turn the adjustin g ring so that the pointe r points to the marki ng. Then proc eed as follows. Drilling in wood When drilling in wood, th e best results are ob tained with wood dril ls equip ped with a g uide sc rew . The gui de screw makes drillin g easier by pulling the bit in to the wor kpiece.
14 Replacing carbon brushes Remov e and check the carbo n brush es regular ly . Replace when they wear down to th e limit mark . K eep the carb on brushes cl ean and free to slip in the h olders. Both carbon brushes sho uld be repla ced at the same t ime.
