This guide p rovides easy instructions to install your expansio n system, verify the installati on was completed correctly, and troubleshoot the installation, if necessar y.

MA GMA 4 Chapter 2 Hardware Installation Before you Begin The power supply is auto-switching. T h is means that it will automatically switch to match whatever source po wer you are using. Sinc e all products ship with a US Sta ndard 115V po wer cord, you will need to use a power cord adapter for non-US Standard 11 5V power sources.

Any 3 rd Party PCI cards installed in the chassis will appear below one of the PCI-to-PCI bridg es. If everything is OK, then the Magma Expansion System in stallation is complete.
MA GMA Chapter 3 Verify Installation 9 Mac OS X When using Mac OS X no additional software or driv ers are needed. As long as you ar e using Mac OS X Vers ion 10.2.2 or newer, the operati ng system should automatically recogniz e th e Magma expansion chassis.

The key point in the figure of th e PCI Bus topology is that the connecting cable bet ween the Host Interface Card and the backplane is actually a PCI bus itself.
