On replacement installations, mount the new thermosta t in place of the old one unless the conditions listed below suggest otherwise. On new installa tions, please follow these general guidelines: 1. Mount the thermostat on an inside wall, about 5 ft.
1. Strip wire insulation leaving only 3/8 in. (9.5mm) bare wire ends, and c lean off any corrosion present. 2. F ill the wall opening with non-combustible insulation to prevent drafts from affecting the thermostat’ s normal opera tion. 3. Separate new thermostat housing using your thumb and index finger .

Setup options for how the thermosta t will function, along with choosing your particular system type, are performed using a menu on the display screen. TO ACCESS THE SETUP MENU: Move the System Mode switch into the OFF position, and then hold do wn the EMER button for a pproximately 5 seconds until the screen changes.
ITEM #07 (DLA Y = DELA Y TIME): [5, default] Thermosta t waits 5 minutes before turning the system back on after it was last run. This internal delay prevents rapid cyc ling and provides equipment protection. The 5 minute setting is fine for most applica tions.
SET D A Y AND TIME: Place the Set Slide Switch into the DA Y/TIME position. With the day flashing, press UP or DOWN to set the day of the week. Press NEXT and the c lock time will start flashing. Use UP or DOWN to set the time, making sure the AM/PM indica tion is correct.

By default, this thermosta t has 4 separa te program periods for both Heat and Cool mode, they are: MORN, DA Y , EVE, and NITE. Each period ends at the start time of the following period. The hea t programs are set in HEA T mode, and the cool programs are set in COOL mode.
TEMPERA TURE C ALIBRA TION: The internal tempera ture sensor in this thermostat is accurately calibra ted at the factor y , and in most cases altera tions to this setting should not be needed.

TO SET THE COOL LIMIT STOP: Place the System Mode s witch in the OFF position, and the Set Slide switch in the R UN position. Press and hold the DOWN button while sliding the System Mode switch from OFF to COOL. The words “STOP” and “LOCK CODE” will a ppear on the screen, along with two digits.
TO UNLOCK THE KEYP AD: Start with the System Mode s witch in either the HEA T or COOL positions, and the Set Slide s witch in the R UN position. Perform a single press of each button, in the follo wing sequence: NEXT , NEXT , NEXT , HOLD. The padlock should no longer be present, with the thermosta t no w unlocked.
HARDW ARE RESET : The Hardware Reset button (labeled “HW RST”) is a small round push button that is loca ted in the middle of the circuit board, just belo w the ba tter y holder .
This thermostat is po wered by two “AA ” Alkaline ba tteries. The batteries should be replaced A T LEAST once per year to ensure reliable opera tion (or sooner if “LO BA TT” a ppears in the display screen). The batteries are loca ted on the back of the thermostat’ s circuit board.
