2 Introduction Getting Started T urn unit on/off T o turn on/of f the unit, press and hold the LIGHT/ POWER key for three seconds. Adjusting the backlight This unit has 10 backlight levels. Press the LIGHT/ POWER key to switch backlight levels. Muting Audio Select Mute Audio from the System menu and press ENTER .
3 Basic Operation Setup wizard The Setup wizard will appear when the unit is turned on for the rst time. T o choose your own settings, do not run the setup wizard .
4 Basic Operation On/Off features Select an on/o menu item and press ENTER to turn it on/o . Dropdown menus After accessing the dropdo wn menu, press the keypad up/ down to select the desired item and press ENTER . Accessing menu items The keypad and ENTER key are used to select menu items and open submenus.
5 Basic Operation T o input text: 1. Use the keypad to select the desired character and press ENTER . 2. Repeat Step 1 for each character . 3. When entry is completed, highlight OK and press ENTER .
6 Basic Operation Advanced Mode Enables advanced fea tures and settings. The follo wing features are enabled when A dvanced mode is turned on: • Colorline (manual control) • Surface Clarity (manua.
7 Basic Operation Standby mode Low ers power consumption by turning o sonar and the display . Pr ess the PWR/LIGHT key to ac- cess the Backlight menu. Select Standby and press ENTER . Pr ess any key to resume normal op- eration. Restore defaults Resets unit options and settings to defaults.
8 Pages Sonar Page Displays the wat er column moving from right to left on your unit’ s screen. On the right side of the screen, the Amplitude Scope bar preview s echoes about to appear on the display .
9 Pages Overlay Data Displays selected overla y data on the sonar page. Show Enables/disables the display of overla y data, allow- ing you to r emove overlay data fr om the screen without deleting the selected overlay data con- guration. Congure Used to select overlay data t o be displayed on the screen.
10 Pages T o select overlay data: 1. From the sonar page, press MENU . 2. Select Overlay data and press ENTER . 3. Select Congure and press ENTER . 4. Press Menu and select Add . Press ENTER . 5. Select the desired data from the Con- gure Items to show screen.
11 Sonar Move the blue sonar history bar all the way to the right to resume normal sonar scrolling . Pr ess MENU and select Exit cursor mode to re - move the cursor fr om the screen. Sonar Menu The sonar menu has options and settings that aect the appearance of the display .
12 Sonar Pr ess MENU from any sonar page to access the So- nar menu. Adjust (Advanced Mode only) Used to make adjustments to Sensitivity, C olorline and Grayline. Sonar Menu (Advanced Mode) Sensitivity Controls the level of detail shown on the display .
13 Sonar Mark series units have a monochrome display , so wide bands of gray indicat e a hard sonar return, while softer returns are shown as dark, narrow areas . Auto Sensitivity Keeps sensitivity at a level that works w ell under most conditions, r educing the needs for adjust- ments.
14 Sonar Split Flasher Split Zoom Frequency Contr ols the transducer frequency used by the unit. This unit supports t w o frequencies: 200kHz and 83kHz. 200 kHz has the highest sensitivity and best tar- get discrimination in shallow water . 83 kH z o ers a wider cone angle for mor e water cover age.
15 Sonar Fish ID Displays sh echoes as sh sym- bols instead of sh arches . Fish ID is not the most accurate method of sh detection since structure and suspended debris may be shown as a sh symbol on the display .
16 Sonar Overlay Data Allows y ou to selec t data (w a- ter temperatur e, depth, etc) to be displayed on t op of the Sonar screen. Overlay data setup is cov ered in the P ages sec tion.
17 Settings Settings Menu Accesses t o installation and conguration settings for your unit . System Adjusts unit settings like language, mut e audio and advanced mode.
18 Settings Set Language Selects the language used on menus and text box es. Mute Audio T urns on/o unit audio, like key beeps , alarm sounds, etc . Advanced Mode Enables featur es and settings only available with unit in Advanced Mode . Restore Defaults Switches the unit back to default settings.
19 Settings Sonar Used to make adjustments t o Sonar options and display settings like Noise Rejection, Sur face and F ishing Mode. Noise Rejection Uses advanced signal processing to monitor the ef- fects noise (boat pumps, wat er conditions, engine ignition systems , etc.
20 Settings Installation Pr ovides access to Keel Oset and T emp Calibration settings. Keel Offset All transducers measure w ater depth from the transducer to the bottom. A s a result, water depth readings do not accoun t for the distance from the transducer to the keel or fr om the transducer to the water surface.
21 Settings Before setting keel o set, measure the distance from the transducer t o the lowest part of the keel. If, f or example, the keel is 3.5 feet belo w the trans- ducer , it will be input as –3.
