18 19 DownScan Operation | Elite-5 HDI DownScan Operation | Elite-5 HDI Contrast Adjusts the brightness ratio between ligh t and dark areas on the screen, making it easier to distinguish suspended objects from the background. DownScan units do not have a Sensitivity setting like traditional sonar units.

Range settings display the section of the water column from the water surface to the selected depth range. If you select too shallow a depth range, the unit will not be able to lock onto the bottom.

This unit suppor ts three con ventional sonar frequencies: 50kHz, 83kHz and 200kHz. 200 kHz has the highest sensitivity and best target discrimination in shallow water .
