SM 30 Unpacking & Assembly Instr uctions 3 UNPA CKING Follow the steps below when unpacking the c om ponents of the SM30. 1. Cut off the shipping wrapper. 2. Remove the parts box a nd shipping boards. 3. Remove the item s in the parts box . These item s are shown in Figure 1.

Bolt on the tear drop pulleys above the bench and the tricep pulldown (see F igure 3) on both cubes using s ix 3/8” x 2- 3/4” hex head bolts. Inc lude the 3/8” flat washer, end c ap washers, end caps and 3/8” Nyloc (locknut).
SM30 U npacking & Assembly Instructions 6 3. Mount the tops. Mount the 56” lat top to the cell by inserting two of the large 7/16” by 6” bolts using the hardware c onfiguration s hown in Figure 5. Use a 5/8” soc ket with extension and com bination wrenc h.
SM 30 Unpacking & Assembly Instr uctions 7 4. Install the w eight stacks. To do this : A. Using a 9/16” soc ket and c om bination wrench, rem ove the tric ep back rest bolts (see Figure 10) . B. Using a 9/16” soc ket and c om bination wrench, unbolt the top plate and rem ove the guide rods (s ee Figure 10).
SM30 U npacking & Assembly Instructions 8 F. W ith the top plate on the guide rods, bolt on the top plate to the top of the cells as shown in Figure 8 using a 9/16” s ock et and com bination wrench and the 3” bolts (with cap washers) that were previously inserted.
SM 30 Unpacking & Assembly Instr uctions 9 6. Mount adjustable pulley bracket. W hen shipped, the adjustable pulley brack et looks like the one s hown in Figure 10. The bolts need to be rem oved and the brack et needs to be positioned so that the top of the brack et is in the top hole as shown by the ar row in Figure 10.

SM 30 Unpacking & Assembly Instr uctions 11 INSTA LLING THE CABLES The SM30 us es three cables . Ther e are two differ ent ty pes of cable used on the SM30. T hey are: 1. Adjustable c able (ball end cable) ( 1). 2. Lat pulldown and tricep cables ( 2).
SM30 U npacking & Assembly Instructions 12 ADJUSTABLE CROSSOVER CABLE RO UTI NG Once you’ve removed the pulleys as desc ribed previously, route the cros sover cable as shown in Figure 14.
SM 30 Unpacking & Assembly Instr uctions 13 Figure 15. Adjustable crossover cab le end detail. Using a 7/8” wrench, tighten the j am nut onto the adjustable pulley threads as shown in Figure 15. Place a rubber c ap on the top of the cable as shown in Figure 15 (right) .
SM30 U npacking & Assembly Instructions 14 Bolt the cable to the weight stack s as s hown in Figure 17. Thr ead the 7/8” nut up on the cable bolt as shown at left. Sc rew the bolt down into the weight stack as s hown at right. Tighten the bolt with a 7/8” com bination wrench.
