Unpacking the UPS an d Site Preparation 6 2.0 U NP ACKING THE UPS AND S ITE P REP ARATION 2.1 Inspection Upon receiving your Liebert ® GXT3-10000T2 20 ™ , examine the packaging for any signs of mishandling or damage. While remo ving shipping materi als, inspect the UPS for damage.

Installation 8 3.0 I NST ALLATION 3.1 Electrical prep arations Before beginning installation , the input source must be isolated an d locked out to prevent connection during installation. The input circu it breaker on the rear of the UP S m ust be in the Off position.
Installation 9 3.4 External Elect rical Connections The external electrical connections may be accessed by re moving the protective panel on the rear of the UPS (see Figure 2 ) (panel ships loose from fa ctory). Se lect a conduit knockout appropriate for your cabling, based on local electrical codes.

Do not conn ect loads between X3-X2 or between X3-X4—these are not standard voltages.
Installation 11 3.7 Connecting Power Cables 1. Open the UPS input breaker. 2. Op en the UPS bypass breaker. 3. Set the maintenance breake r to the Bypass position. 4. Remo ve the electrical connection protective panel, if insta lled, from the rear UPS panel.
Operation 12 4.0 O PERATION 4.1 Block Diagram The Liebert ® GXT3-10000T220 ™ consists of the following main components: • 2 utility inputs wi th separa te breakers—uti lity and bypass • recti.
Operation 13 4.2 Control Panel The Control Panel’s LCD and buttons are used to initiate various UPS operations, tests and commands and to view the status of the UPS. By pressing the Menu Up or Menu Down and Ente r keys , it is possible to scroll through the various menus.

Operation 16 4.2.2 Battery Setup Parameters 4.2.3 W arning Indicators If a warning indicat ion appears, the UPS continues to operate. The warning message altern ates with UPS mode once a second.
Operation 17 4.2.4 Fault Indicators If a fault occurs, the UPS automatically switches to BYPASS mode, ONLY in case of a battery disconnect fault will the original operating mode be maintained. Th e fault message alternates with UPS mode once a second, the red Fault LED illuminates on the control panel and the buzzer sounds continuously.
Operation 18 4.3 Initial UPS St artup Procedure 1. Inspect all power connections to en sure they are correct and secure. 2. Open external circuit breakers/fused di sconnect s to the connected loads. 3. Cl ose all upstream circuit breakers an d fused disconnects.
Operation 19 4.6 Return from Maintenance Byp ass 1. Ensure all switches and circuit brea kers upstream of the UPS are closed. 2. En sure that both input circuit breake rs are in th e On position. 3. Turn the Maintenance breake r from BYPASS to UPS and replace the cover.
Maintenance 20 5.0 M AINTENANCE 5.1 T est, Replacement and Disposal of Batteries The Liebert ® GXT3 ™ is designed to allow the us er to replace the internal ba ttery pack safely. Refer to Table 7 for internal battery pack part numbers for Li ebert GXT3 UPS and Liebert Ext ernal Battery Cabinets: Read all safety cautions before proceeding.
Communication 21 6.0 C OMMUNICATION 6.1 Communication Interface Port The Liebert ® GXT3 ™ UPS has a terminal block on the rear of the UPS unit. Several signals are provided on this port and are assigned as follows. 6.2 Dry Cont act The Dry Contact includes eight pins, as shown an d defined in Figure 12 .
Communication 22 6.2.2 Battery Mode Shut down Battery Mode Shutdown permits shutting down the UPS by turning off the rectifier, inverter and static switch so that there is no powe r to the lo ad when the UPS is On Ba ttery. The auxiliary power for the UPS will st ill be active.
Communication 23 6.3.1 Liebert ® MultiLink ® Liebert MultiLink continua lly monitors the UPS and can shut down your computer or server in the event of an extended power failure. Liebert MultiLi nk can also be configured for use without the USB cable when the Liebert IntelliSlot ® SNMP/Web card is installed in the UPS.
