17 Ch3. System info rmati on Status indicators The system st atus indi cators show t he stat us of the comput er 3 12 45 67 1. Caps lock Caps lock indicator lights up when the Caps lock key is pressed. W hen this indi cator lights up, you can type capital letters without pressing the Shift key.

Because this system is not equ ipped with any floppy disk dr ive, you have to use an e xternal U SB drive for a BIOS update. In orde r to boot up with an USB drive, please set Removable D evice as the fi rst boot up drive in the boot menu of BIOS setup.

Backup BIOS and Fl ash BIOS with new settings b. Backup BI OS Only 4. Specify the loca tions for backup and new BIOS files in BIOS Setting Locations.

The most likely cause is listed first. Note If r eplacing a pa rt (FR U) does not solve the problem, pu t the orig inal part back in the computer.

Follow these procedures to isolate t he failing FRU (do not isolate FRUs that have no defects).
