5 Before use To ensure proper use of this product, please read this owner ’s manual carefully and retain it for future reference. This manual provides information on the operation and maintenance of your DVD/CD Receiver . Should the unit require service, contact an authorized service location.
6 Do not touch the inner pins of the jacks on the rear panel. Electrostatic discharge may cause permanent damage to the unit. W ireless transmitter receiver kit not supplied. We urge you to purchase such a kit to avoid cumbersome wires running front to back on the floor .
7 Introduction Remote Control OPEN/CLOSE ( Z Z ) Opens and closes the disc tray . DVD Selects the output source (CD/DVD). iPod Selects the iPod source. S-TITLE Selects a subtitle language (DVD). CLEAR Removes a track number on the program menu or a mark on the MARKER SEARCH menu.
8 Make one of the following connections, depending on the capabilities of your existing equipment. Tips: Depending on your TV and other equipment you wish to connect, there are various ways you could connect the DVD/CD Receiver . Use one of the connections described below .
9 Optional Equipment Connection USB connection (U) Connect the USB port of USB Memory (or MP3 player , etc.) to the USB port on the front of the unit. Removing the USB Device from the unit 1. Choose a different function mode or press ST OP ( x ) twice in a row .
10 Antenna Connection Connect the supplied FM/AM antenna for listening to the radio. Connect the AM Loop antenna to the AM antenna connector . Connect the FM Wire antenna to the FM antenna connector . Notes: To prevent noise pickup, keep the AM Loop antenna away from the DVD/CD Receiver and other components.
11 HDMI Connection About HDMI HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) supports both video and audio on a single digital connection for an easy all- digital output to an HDMI or DI-equipped TV . Connection to an HDMI TV requires an HDMI cable while connection to a DVI-equipped TV requires a DVI adapter besides a HDMI cable.
12 Displaying Disc Information On - screen Y ou can display various information about the disc loaded on-screen. 1. Press DISPLA Y to show various playback information. The displayed items differ depending on the disc type or playing status. 2. Y ou can select an item by pressing v / V and change or select the setting by pressing b / B .
13 AUDIO Each DVD disc has a variety of audio output options. Set the receiver ’s AUDIO options according to the type of audio system you use. Dynamic Range Control (DRC) With the DVD* 1 format, you can hear a program’s soundtrack in the most accurate and realistic presentation, thanks to digital audio technology .
14 LOCK (Parental Control) Rating Blocks playback of rated DVDs based on their contents. Not all discs are rated. 1. Select “Rating” on the LOCK menu then press B . 2. T o access the LOCK options, you must input the password you have created. If you have not yet entered password, you are prompted to do so.

16 Notes on general features: Zoom may not work on some DVDs. The A-B repeat function is available only in the current title. Additional features 1.5 times speed playback Y ou can play at 1.5 times speed. The 1.5 speed allows you to watch the pictures and listen to the sound quicker than playing at a normal speed on the disc.
17 Playing an Audio CD or MP3/WMA file This unit can play Audio CDs or MP3/WMA files. MP3/ WMA/ Audio CD Once you insert a CD with MP3/WMA files or Audio, a menu appears on the TV screen. Press v / V to select a track/file and then press PLA Y or ENTER, and playback starts.
18 V iewing a JPEG file This unit can play discs with JPEG files. Before playing JPEG recordings, read the notes on JPEG Recordings on the right. 1. Insert a disc and close the tray . The PHOTO menu appears on the TV screen. 2. Press v / V to select a folder, and then press ENTER.
19 Playing a DivX Movie file Using this DVD/CD Receiver you can play DivX disc. 1. Insert a disc and close the tray . The MOVIE menu appears on the TV screen. 2. Press v / V to select a folder and then press ENTER. A list of files in the folder appears.
20 Using iPod Y ou can enjoy playback of your iPod using the supplied remote control. iPod is a trademark of Apple Computer, Inc, registered in the U.S. and other countries. General operation 1. Connect your iPod and the unit with iPod cable. Refer to the page 9.
21 Playing the iPod in the OSD iPod mode Y ou can operate your iPod by controlling OSD menu on the TV screen with the supplied remote control. The controls on your iPod are not operational in the OSD iPod mode. 1. Press iPod on the Remote Control until “OSD IPOD” appears in the display window .
22 DVD Audio Discs DVD Audio is a new disc format building on the success of DVD to provide high quality , uncompressed, multi-channel audio for a new experience in audio quality . A DVD Audio disc can be identified by the DVD audio logo on the disc jacket or on the disc itself.
23 Presetting the Radio Stations Y ou can preset 50 stations for FM and AM (MW). Before tuning, make sure that you have turned down the volume. 1. Press TUNER on the Remote Control until FM or AM (MW) appears in the display window . 2. And then every time you press TUNER, FM and AM (MW) changes alternately .
24 Sleep Timer Setting Y ou can set the DVD/CD Receiver to turn off automatically at a specified time. 1. Press SLEEP to set the desired sleep time. The SLEEP indicator and the sleep time appears in the display window . 2. Each time you press SLEEP the setting changes in the following order .
25 XM Satellite Radio Operation What is XM Satellite Radio? XM Radio is the satellite radio service with millions of listeners across the U.S. Broadcasting live daily . XM Radio offers 160 digital radio channels offering music, news, sports, comedy , talk, entertainment, traffic and weather reports, with high quality digital sound.
26 Presetting the XM Satellite Radio Stations Y ou can preset 50 stations for XM. Before tuning, make sure that you have turned down the volume. 1. Press TUNER to select XM band. 2. Use XM CH (-/+) on the Remote Control to select the desired channel. 3.
27 Controlling your TV with the Suppllied Remote Control Y ou can control the sound level, input source, and power switch of your LG TV with the supplied Remote Control. Y ou can control your TV using the buttons below . By pressing Y ou can TV POWER T urn the TV on or off.

30 T roubleshooting Check the following guide for the possible cause of a problem before contacting service. Symptom No power . The power is on, but the DVD/CD Receiver does not work. No picture. There is no sound or only a very low-level sound is heard.
