Adding Staples 71 4 Adding Staples When “ Add Stap les ” appears on the panel di splay, the sta ples have run out. Follow s these steps to add a new staple refil l. Note ❒ After adding the staple refill, sta- ples might no t be ejected for the first few times.
Troubleshooting 72 4 C Align the arrows on the n ew refill case and the cartridge, and pus h the new refill ca se in until it clicks. Note ❒ Do not remove th e ribbon for bundling staples, before install- ing the cartridge. D Pull out the ribbon used for bun- dling staples.

Troubleshooting 74 4 C Remove the jammed staples. D Close the face plate of the car- tridge. E Reinstall the cartridge. SR510 ( 500 – sheet finisher) A Reinstall the cartridge. It should click into place. B Close the rear cover of th e fin- isher. SR720 (1 00 0 – sheet fi nisher) A Reinstall the cartridge.
Replacing the Toner Bottle 75 4 Replacing the Toner Bottle R WARNING: R CAUTION: Note ❒ With the printer still on, follow the procedure below. A Open the fro nt cover. B Lift the green han dle. C While pushing the green lever ( A A A A ), hold the handle and slide th e toner holder ou t slightly ( B B B B ).
Troubleshooting 76 4 D Release the green lever and gen- tly slide the toner holder out until it stop s. Important ❒ I f y o u c o n t i n u e t o p u s h t h e gree n lever to slide t he toner holder, the toner holder might be dropped. E Press the toner bottle backward to raise its head ( A A A A ), then gently pull out the bottle ( B B B B ).
Replacing the Photoconductor Unit 77 4 Replacing the Photoconducto r Unit Preparation The photoc onductor unit co mes with the supplies required to maintain the printer. If “ Replace PCU ” appears on the panel di splay, repl ace the photo- conducto r unit.
Troubleshooting 78 4 E While pressing th e green button, slide the photocondu ctor unit out until it stops. F Raise the green handle and slide the photoconductor unit out to- wards you. Important ❒ Do no t tilt or dr op the removed photoc onductor unit.
Replacing the Photoconductor Unit 79 4 K Push the unit into the printer u nit it clicks into place. L Remove the red sheet from the photoconducto r unit and remove the two pieces of tape.
Troubleshooting 80 4 Cleaning the Paper Feed Roller If the paper feed rollers are dirtied by powde red paper , paper might n ot feed corre ctly, or misfeeds might oc- cur. In t his case, clean t he paper feed rollers. Follow these steps to clean the paper fe ed rollers of stan dard tray 1 and tray 2.
Cleaning the Paper Feed Roller 81 4 F Insert the projection of the paper feed roller into the hole ( A A A A ). Whil e pulling the roller, insert the roller into the rear shaft ( B B B B ). G Check the motion o f the paper feed roller to confirm that it is properly set.
