Connecting to a USB port In the following proce dure, the machine is con nected directly to the compu- ter by using a USB cable.

For details on th e TWAIN driver, refer to the User’ s Guide for the TWAIN drive r. This machine cannot be conn ected to a computer running Windows 98 SE using a USB interface.

Installation using Plug and Play When installing the driver by using Plug and Play, the installation procedure differs depending on the operating system.

Installing the pri nter driver 2 IC-206 2-29 2.6 Uninstalling the printer d river 2 Note With Windows XP, Server 2003, Vista and 2000, log on as a user with Ad- ministrator privileges to delete the printer driver. For details on deleting the TWAIN drive r, refer to the User’s Guide for the TWAIN driver.

When using Windows XP/Server 2003, it may not be possible to overwrite the driver, even if the same vers ion of th e printer driver is reinstalled.

After the message “ACCEPTED” ap- pears, the “NETWORK SETTING” menu appears again.
3 Network printing 3-12 IC-206 9 Using the keypad, type in the gateway. – For the gateway, consult with the network administrator. – If the number was incorrectly entere d, press the [Clear/Stop] key to erase it, a nd then type i t in correctly. 10 Press the [OK] key.

The “CONFIRM MODE” menu appears. 2 Press the [ , ] or [ + ] key until “PRINT RE PORT” is selecte d, and then press the [OK] k ey.

Network printing 3 IC-206 3-19 2 Reminder Before specifying setting s, check that the following pre parations have been completed. The computer can comm unicate using the TCP/IP protocol. This machine can com municate using the TCP/IP protocol. The printer driver is insta lled on the computer.

(For details on install- ing the PCL driver, refer to “Installing t h e print er driver by usin g the Add Prin t- er Wizard” on page 2-15.

4 Specifying printer driver settings 4-6 IC-206 Properties dialog box Installed options can be selected from the Propert ies dialog box for the print- er driver. 2 Reminder If the options installed on the machine are not specified from the Device Options tab, the functions availabl e wi th the option cannot be used from the printer driver.

4 Specifying printer driver settings 4-8 IC-206 Device Options Specify the settings for th e installed pa per drawers. From the “Device Options” list, doub le-click the names of installed paper drawers to specify that it is installed. Double-click the name again to return the setting to “Not Installed”.

4 Specifying printer driver settings 4-10 IC-206 Easy Set The currently specified se ttings can be registered as a program to be re- called later when you wi sh to use those settings again. 1 Change the driver settings on the Setup an d Layout tabs. 2 In the “Easy Set” box, type the name of the program.
Specifying printer driver setti ngs 4 IC-206 4-11 2 Note To recall a registered program, sele ct it from the list. To change th e name of the registered program, select the p rogram from the list, and then type in the new program name. The button changes to the [Rename] button.
