a) Lift the printer access door and r emove all or ange shipping tape fr om the printer . Unpack P rinter 1 Black Ink 10 Color Ink Cartridge 10 Ink cartridges Printhead Printer acc ess door Scanner li.
c) Pull on the or ange tab to remo ve the pr otective retainer . a) K eep the printer access door open b) Remov e the printhead from its bag. IMPORT ANT : Insert the printhead immediately upon opening sealed bag. The printhead is fr agile, handle carefully .
e) Place the printhead into the carriage. Insert at the angle shown. f) P ush firmly against the target label of the printhead until you hear a loud snap . d) Carefully r emov e and discard the black plastic shield and the orang e protectiv e cap. IMPORT ANT : Do not touch the copper-c olored contacts.
Inser t Ink Cartridges 3 4 10 Blac k Ink Cart r idge 10 B lac k In k C a rtr id g e b) Carefully remo ve and discar d the orang e cap. Handle ink cartridges carefully to a void ink tr ansfer . c) Insert the black ink cartridge into the printhead. a) Remo ve the black ink cartridge fr om its bag.
10 Cartouche d'encre noire Cartouche d'encre couleur 10 f) P ress do wn firmly on the ink cartridge until you hear it click into position. g) Close the printer access door . e) Open and uncap the color ink cartridge. Insert it into the printhead.
a) Connect the po wer cor d and adaptor . b) Press ON. W ait for sy stem maintenance to finish and the Out of P aper light to turn on. C onnect P o w er and Calibr ate 4 6 c) Lo wer the fr ont access door and pull the paper tra y all the way out. A flashing “E” in the quantity windo w indicates the printhead is not installed corr ectly .
d) Insert a stack of plain paper into the paper tray . Squeeze the tab and slide the paper guide so that it rests against the stack of paper as sho wn. f) Calibr ation will tak e about two minutes and is complete when the sheet has printed. e) Pr ess Copy /Resume.
