9 5. Lift the toner r elease lever . 6. Hold the right end of the cartridge and car efully lift it out of the drum assembly . 7 . Clean the top of the image drum unit with a clean, lint -fr ee cloth. 8. Rem ov e the ne w cartridg e from the bo x. 9 . R emov e the wr apping and the adhesiv e tape from the cartridge.
10 13. Hold the center of the toner cartridge/imag e drum and low er it into the printer . Align the pegs on the drum assembly with the slots on the printer . 11. Gently wipe th e LED head with a lint-fr ee cloth. 12. C lose the top cov er . 13. Place the old cartridge inside the packaging fr om the new cartridge.

12 Re p l a c i n g t h e I m a ge D r u m T he printer contains four image drums: cy an, magenta, ye llow , and black. 1. Mak e sure that you ha ve a sheet of paper on which to place the old image drum. 2. Open the top co ver . Caution! T he fuser becomes extremely hot during normal oper ation.
13 10. Carefully place the toner cartridge onto the ne w image drum as show n. 11. Pr ess down the toner r elease leve r . 12. Hold the c enter of the toner cartridge/imag e drum and low er it into the printer . Align the pegs on th e assembly with the slots on the printer .
14 6. R emov e the belt unit: a. T urn the t wo f asteners 90° to the left . b. Lif t the handle of the belt unit and r emov e it from the printer . 7 . R emove the new belt unit from its packaging. 8. Install the new belt unit: a. L o wer t he belt u nit into th e printer .
15 Re p l a c i n g t h e Fus e r T he fuser is located inside the printer just behind the four image drums. 1. T urn off the printer . 2. W ait appr oximately 10 minutes for the fuser to cool. 3. Open the top cov er . Caution! T he fuser becomes extremely hot during normal oper ation.
16 Cleaning the LED Head W e r ecommend cleaning the LED head if the image ar ea: • is not clear •h a s w h i t e l i n e s 1. T urn off the printer . Caution! Do not use methyl alc ohol or other solvents on the LED head. Damag e to the lens surface will occur .
17 Clearing P aper Jams When “P aper Jam” appears on the display , one or mor e sheets of print media ar e jammed in the printer . If one sheet is remo ved and ther e are still mor e sheets in the pr inter , the initial messag e will go a wa y tempor arily , then “P aper Jam” will appear again.
18 1. Mak e sure that you ha ve a sheet of paper on which to place the toner cartridge/imag e drum. 2. Open the top co ver . 3. If a sheet is advance d out of the top of the printer , gently pull the paper out. Caution! T he fuser becomes extremely hot during normal oper ation.
19 7 . T o rem ove a s h e e t j u st entering the fuser: a. Separ ate the trailing edge of the sheet fr om the belt. b. Mo ve the paper r elease lev er for the fuser to war d the front, and remov e the sheet. c. R eleas e the lev er. 8. If the sheet is well adv anced into the fuser: a.
20 9 . Carefully r eplace the toner cartridge/imag e drums . Mak e sur e that you install them in the pr oper sequence. 1 = C yan 2 = Magenta 3 = Y ellow 4 = Black 10. Close the top cov er . 11. Open the rear e xit tra y and pull out any p aper . 12. C lose the r ear exit tr ay .
21 14. Open the fr ont door to access the r elease lev er for the fr ont cover . 15. Lift the release lev er and open the front c ov er . 16. R emov e any jammed paper . 17 . Close the fr ont cov er . 18. R emo ve the paper tr ay and any jammed p aper .

Check that: • the pow er cord is connected. • the printer is turned on. • the USB cable or Ethernet cable is connected to the printer and the console.
