IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS ■ Liquids, such as water, coffee, or tea are able to be overheated beyond the boiling point without appearing to be boiling. Visible bubbling or boiling when the container is removed from the microwave oven is not always present.
5 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Unpacking 1. Empty the micr owave oven of any packing materials. 2. Clean the inside with a soft, damp cloth. 3. Check for damage, such as: ■ a door that is not lined up correctly ■ damage around the door , or ■ dents on the interior or exte rior of the microwave oven.
6 PARTS AND FEATURES This manual may cover several differ ent models. The model you have purchased may have some or all of the features shown here. The appearance of your particular model may differ slightly from the illustrations in th is manual. Tu r n t a b l e The turntable can r otate in either direction to help cook food more evenly .
7 Display When power is first supplied to the microwave oven, “0:0 0” will appear in the display . If the “0: 00” appears in the display at any other time, a power failur e has occurr ed. Reset the clock if needed. See “Clock.” When the mi crowave oven is in use, the display will show cook time rem aining.
8 MICROWAVE OVEN USE A magnetron in the microwave oven pr oduces microwaves which reflect of f the metal floor , walls and ceiling and pass through the turntable and appr opriate cookwar e to the food.
9 Cookware and Dinnerware Cookware and dinnerware must fit on the turntable. Always use oven mitts or pot hold ers when hand ling because any dish may become hot fr om heat transferr ed from the food . Do not use cookware and dinnerware with gold or silver trim.
10 Manual Cooking NOTE: T o cook at 100% power , begin by touching number pads to enter cook time, then tou ch ST AR T . To U s e : 1. Place food on the turntable and close the door . 2. T ouch COOK TIME. “00:00” will appear in the display . Enter the length of time to cook.
11 Quick T ouch Menu (sensor and non-sensor) The following menu items are pr eprogramm ed for quick and easy cooking/r eheating. For added convenie nce, the availa ble/recom mended amount s shown in the following c hart ar e included on the Cooking Guide la bel (see “Parts and Features” for its location).
12 W eight Defrost / T imed Defrost The W eight Defrost feat ure’ s preset programs can be used, the Ti med Defrost feature can be used, or the microwave oven can be manually set to defr ost. ■ Unwrap foods and remove lids (for example, from frui t juice containers) before defr osting.
13 MICROWAVE OVEN CARE General Cleaning IMPORT ANT : Before cleaning, make sure all controls are of f and the microwave oven is cool. Always follow label instructions on cleaning products. Soap, water and a soft cloth or sponge are suggested unless otherwise noted.
14 TROUBLESHOOTING T ry the solutions suggested here fi rst in or der to avoid the cost of an unnecessary service ca ll. Nothing will operate ■ Has a household fuse blown, or has a cir cuit breaker tripped? Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker .
15 ASSISTANCE OR SERVICE Befor e calling for assistance or service, please check “T roubleshooting.” It may save you the cost of a service call. If you still need help, follow the instructions below . When calling, please know the purchase date and th e complete model and serial number of your a ppliance.
