Place the aerial awa y from the unit f or better reception. l When static is still heard e v en after adjusting the position of the AM loop aerial, tr y re versing the wire connections.

T o set the unit to stand-by mode: Press the ON/ST ANDBY button again. n T o change the display brightness (2 le vels) Y ou can switch the displa y brightness by pressing the DIMMER button on the remote control.

15 Basic Operation - Setting the Cloc k - Setting the Cloc k This ma y be operated only with the remote control. In this e xample, the clock is set f or the 24-hour (0:00) display . Note: The time will flash at the push of the CLOCK button when the A C power supply is restored after a power f ailure or unplugging the unit.
16 CD Pla ybac k - Listening to a CD - Listening to a CD T o interrupt playbac k: Main unit operation: Press the / button. T o resume pla yback from the same point, press the / button again. Remote control operation: Press the button. T o resume pla yback from the same point, press the button.
17 CD Pla ybac k - Listening to a CD - T o remove the CD: Whilst in the stop mode, press the OPEN/CLOSE b utton. Press the CD eject button and remo ve the CD . Notes: l After removing the CD , make sure to press the OPEN/CLOSE b utton and close the CD compar tment.
18 CD Pla ybac k - Repeat or Random Pla y - Repeat or Random Pla y Y ou can select one of the CD playbac k mode; "Repeat play", "Random pla y" and "Normal play". T o repeat a programmed sequence: P erf or m steps 1 - 5 in the "Programmed Pla y" section and then select the repeat pla yback.
19 CD Pla ybac k - Programmed Pla y - Pr ogrammed Pla y By specifying trac ks from 1 to 99, you can choose up to 20 selections f or playbac k in the order you lik e. Adding trac ks to the programme: If a programme has been pre viously stored, the "MEMOR Y" indicator will be dis- pla yed.
20 Radio - Listening to the Radio - Listening to the Radio T o receive an FM stereo transmission: Press the FUNCTION (BAND) button to displa y the "ST" indicator . l " " will appear when an FM broadcast is in stereo . l If the FM reception is weak, press the FUNCTION (BAND) b utton to e xtinguish the "ST" indicator .
21 Radio - Listening to the memorised station - Listening to the memorised station n Memorising a station Y ou can store 30 AM and FM stations in memor y and recall them at the push of a but- ton.
22 Ad v anced Features - Timer and Sleep Operation - Timer and Sleep Operation This ma y be operated only with the remote control. Timer playbac k: The unit turns on and plays the desired source (CD , tuner) at the preset time. Sleep operation: The radio and compact disc can all be turned off automatically .
23 Ad v anced Features - Timer and Sleep Operation - T o reset or change the timer setting: P erf or m "Timer pla yback" from the beginning. Notes: l Once the time is set, the setting will be retained until a new time is entered.
