1. Safety instructions The f ollowing section contains im por tant inform ation regar ding operation, place of installation and connec tion of the rec eiver.
Important notes for siting and installation Place of installat ion Every electronic device gener ates heat. The r ise in tem perature, however, lies within a saf e range. Slight colour changes m ay occur to sensitive f urnit ure s urfac es and veneers over the course of time due to the constant ef fect of heat.
3. Operation 3.1. Local control Open (and close) the flap on the fr ont panel of the unit by pressing the dotted area (left) . The local c ontrol consis ts of the buttons [STANDBY], [ ▲ ] and [ ▼ ] f or switching the pr ogram mes (up/down), as well as [ - ] and [ + ] f or adjus ting the volum e.
3.3. Programme 3.3.1 Progr amme selec tion with the nume rical butto ns [0...9], [ ▲ ] , [ ▼ ] and li st Setting a pr ogram m e is c arried out by direct entry of the programm e num ber with the num erical buttons (0 is also a pr ogram me num ber ).
All program m es fr om the pr ogram m e pool ar e also saved in the f avourite list 0 = „ ALL“ upon delivery. The f avourite list F0 = ALL c ontains all the progr amm es known thus f ar f or satellite rec eivers.
3.7. Timer The „tim er program m ing“ m enu is called up by pressing the [ ¹ ] button. Up to 8 tim er events can be alternatively entered wi th TV or radio program m es. Note: Keep in mind, that the video recorder must also be set to the s ame recording time.
3.8. EPG – Programme information (Basis nav igator) In the EPG (Elec tronic Program m e Guide) , inform ation about the c urrent and following progr amm es is displayed. The magnitude of this program m e-acc ompanying inform ation is deter mined by the respective program m e provider and varies f rom program m e to programm e.
4. Menu structure 4.1. Programmes 4.1.1 Favourite li st Access the main m enu by pressing [M], and then press the [OK] button twice. Sorting, exchangi ng, copying and deleting programmes – all i n one menu! [ i ] Selects one of the f avourite li sts 0.
Deleting: Move the programm e, which is to be deleted, to t he red bar using the [ ▼ ] [ ▲ ] buttons (or by entering the pr ogramm e number). Place it in the centr e field by pressing the [ W ] button.
4.1.3 Programme pool The progr amm e pool c ontains all program m es in alphabetic al order. Press the [M] button to select the satellites. Pres s the [T V] button to select f ree or encr ypted programm es.
4.1.4 Parental lock The 5-digit pas sword (PIN) is s et to 00000 at the factor y . a) Changing t he passw ord (PIN) Select the „Parental loc k“ m enu with the [4] button in the m ain m enu „Program m e! “ Select the entry field {PIN} by using the [2] button or the [ ▼ ] button, and activate it by pressing [OK].
4.2. Search 4.2.1. S atellite search The satellite s earch occurs via all f requencies of the s elected satellite. Selec t the desired settings in the order of the m enu: The selection of the individual param eters is carri ed out af ter the activation with the [OK] button and then with the [ ► ] or [ ◄ ] button.
4.3. Satellit e The satellite AST RA is s et at the fact ory. The other 7 satellites, e.g. Hotbird, are pre-programm ed. For extending your receiving system, you can mak e the required s ettings for the 7 pre-program m ed satellites in the ‚Satellite‘ m enu.
4.4.2. Menu language (1) Sele ct the language. The menu language can be switched between {Germ an } and { English} . (2) Sele ct the font. The automatic changeover of the f ont is def ined in the DVB standard – Unf ortunately not all broadcasting institutes k eep to this s tandard, and charac ters in a text c an appear in the wrong font.
4.4.4. LNB settings (1) LNB {ON} Standard setting {OFF} Operation without LNB signal (e.g. on spec ial systems with sever al subscr ibers) (2) In standby {OFF} Standard setting Attention! Only use th e settin g {OF F} for ind ividual systems, ot herwise the receiver supplies the LNB with power even in standby.
4.4.6. D ownload-over-air (S oftware update via satellite) In the subm enu „Download“ you can individually download operating software and progr amm e lis ts of y our rec eive via the satellite AST RA (Update via download-over-air ). To do so, your receiving s y stem m ust be aligned to the satellite AST RA 19.
4.5. CA ( C onditional A ccess) = Encry pted programmes (CCR 512) 4.5.1 General information To rec eive encrypted programm es , you need a Common Inter face CA m odule (CAM) and a Sm artcard from your service provider . Note, that the CA modules with the respective Sm artcar ds only decode programm es f rom your service provider.
