6 ]Intro duction These instructions are for VN-C20U . 䡵 High Picture Quality The camera unit of VN-C20 employ s a 380,000- pixel CCD (1/3") which enables high quality image monitoring. 䡵 Built-in W eb Server Setting is possible using the Inter net Explorer.

8 Intr oduction Fron t / T op / Side A Back Focus adjustment ring This ring is used for back f ocus ad justment and switching the lens mount method. T o operate , tur n the H back f ocus fastening screw in the anti-clockwise direction, and turn the screw in the clockwise direction to f asten after operation is complete.
9 Side / Rear I [RESET] Reset button This is a button f or rebooting the camera. Press this button and release within 5 seconds to reboot the camera. It takes about 1 minute f or the camera to reboot.
10 Intr oduction Monitoring Via Built-in Viewer VN-C20 comes with a buil t-in Activ eX viewer . Monitoring of VN-C20 images using the computer is possible b y in stalling this built-in viewer on the computer . Images that are currently display ed m a y also be captured in the computerís hard disk.
11 Restrictions on Clients It is possible to per mit or deny image acquisition of designated I P addresses using VN-C20. ( A Pa g e 4 8 ) Control via customized application software The follo wing uses are also possible by dev eloping a customized application software that suppor ts the API of VN-C20.

13 Connection / Insta llation 1. Check the mounting method of the lens to be used before mounting ● The default method used f or this camera is CS mount. T o use a C mount lens , loosen the back f ocus fastening screw using a screwdriver , f ollowed b y turning the b ack focus ring using a finger or pointed object (e.
14 Connection / Insta llation Electricity can be supplied to this p roduct either by using the P oE or connecting to the AC24 V power supply . 䢇 When electricity is supplied to the camera, the power indicator lights up f or a moment, star ts blinking during star tup, and lights up when star tup is complete.
15 Connecting to the A C2 4 V power suppl y Connect this product to the AC24 V power supply when not using the P oE. Caution: ● Make sure to select only one mode of electrical supply . Connecting the power cord and the LAN cable f or the P oE at the same time may result in f ailure or malfunction of the camera.
16 Connection / Insta llation Connect the camera to a hub or computer using a LAN cable. Use the shielded cable f or connections. 䡵 When connecting to a hub Make use of a straight cab l e. 䡵 When connec ting to a compute r Make use of a Cross Over cab le.
17 Connect the alar m input/output term inals with external devices such as a sensor , buzzer , etc. Plug/Unplug the cable b y pressing the button as shown in the diagr am below . Caution: ● Noises from an external source may cause malfunctions ev en when the cable used in shor ter than 50 m.
18 Connection / Insta llation Use the screw hole on the camera mounting brack et when mounting this came ra to a fix er or rotating platform. Caution: ● When mounting the camera, use screws with a length of 7 mm or shor ter from the mounting surface .
19 The CS mount is adjusted to th e widest point of the applicable range by def ault. When using t he zoom lens or C mount l ens, or the lens is out of focus, readjustment is require d using the focus ring. ● When required, follo w the metho d below to adjust the back f ocus.
20 Connection / Insta llation ● Ensure that ther e is sufficient netw or k bandwidth f or the data v olume to be sent out by VN-C20. ● Data volume to be sent b y VN-C20 varies with the settings and number of distributions. ● The maximum bit rate from VN-C20 is about 9 Mbps.
