(No.MA063)1-7 SECTION 3 DISASSEMBLY 3.1 Main body section 3.1.1 Removing the front pane l assembly (See Fig.1) (1) Push the detach button in t he lower right part of the front panel assembly. (2) Remove the front panel assembly. Fig.1 3.1.2 Removing the heat sink (See Fig.

(1) Remove the screw C and move the loading / feed moto r as- sembly in the direction of the arrow to remove it from the chassis rivet assembly.

1-20 (No.MA063) 3.2.9 Removing the trigger arm (See Figs.19 and 20) • Prior to performing the followi ng proced ure, remove the top cover, connector board and clamper unit. (1) Turn the trigger arm in the directi on of the arrow to release the joint k and pull out upward.

2 ENGLISH How to reset your unit Press the reset button on the control panel using a ball-point pen or a similar tool. This will reset the built-in microcomputer . Note: Y our pr eset adjustments—such as pr eset channels or sound adjustments—will also be erased.

ENGLISH 4 LOCA TION OF THE BUTTONS Control panel Illumination Navigation for easy operations If you use M MODE or SEL (select), the displa y and some controls (such as the number buttons, 4 / ¢ , 5 / ∞ , and control dial) enter the corresponding control mode, then the controls star t flashing to lead you to the ne xt operational steps.
ENGLISH 5 Remote controller 3 • Selects the preset stations (or service) while listening to the radio (or the D AB tuner). Each time you press the b utton, the preset station (or service) number increases, and the selected station (or service) is tuned in.
ENGLISH 6 Preparing the remote controller Before using the remote controller: • Aim the remote controller directly at the remote sensor on the main unit. Make sure there is no obstacle in between. • Do not e xpose the remote sensor to strong light (direct sunlight or ar tificial lighting).
7 ENGLISH 3 Adjust the v olume. 4 Adjust the sound as you want. (See pages 32 – 35.) Note: While playing a sour ce, you can select the display theme of your pr efer ence.

T o resume the previous v olume lev el, press the button briefly again. • If you turn the control dial, you can also restore the sound.
9 ENGLISH 5 Set the cloc k system. 1 Select “ 24H/12H. ” 2 Select “ 24Hours ” or “ 12Hours . ” 12 6 Finish the setting. T o chec k the clock time when the unit is turned off, press D DISP . The power turns on and the clock time is sho wn for about 5 seconds , then the power turns off.
10 ENGLISH RADIO OPERA TIONS Listening to the radio Y ou can use either automatic searching or manual searching to tune in to a par ticular station. Searching for a station automatically: Auto search 1 Select the band (FM1 – 3, AM).
11 ENGLISH If the sound quality decreases and the stereo effect is lost while listening to an FM station In some areas, adjacent stations ma y interfere with each other . If this interf erence occurs, this unit can automatically reduce this interference noise (the initial setting when shipped from the factory).
12 ENGLISH Storing stations in memory Y ou can use one of the following two methods to store broadcasting stations in memory . • Automatic preset of FM stations: SSM (Strong- station Sequential Memo.
13 ENGLISH Local FM stations with the strongest signals are searched and stored automatically in the band number you ha ve selected (FM1, FM2, or FM3). These stations are preset in the number b uttons —No .1 (lowest frequency) to No .6 (highest frequency).
14 ENGLISH Selecting a preset station using the preset station list If you f orget what stations are stored in which preset numbers , you can check the preset station list, then select your desired station.
15 ENGLISH Changing the display pattern By pressing D DISP , y ou can change the information shown on the display . Each time you press the b utton, the display patterns change as follows: • When re.
16 ENGLISH RDS OPERA TIONS What you can do with RDS RDS (Radio Data System) allows FM stations to send an additional signal along with their regular programme signals . For e xample, the stations send their station names, as well as inf or mation about what type of programme the y broadcast, such as spor ts or music, etc.
17 ENGLISH 1 Press and hold SEL (select) for more than 2 seconds so that one of the PSM items appears on the displa y . (PSM: see pages 46 and 47.) 2 Press number b utton 4 to select “TUNER”—T uner category of the PSM settings. The “PTY Stnby” (standby) setting screen appears on the displa y .
18 ENGLISH 7 When the current source is other than FM, the TP indicator lights up. If a station star ts broadcasting a traffic announcement, “T raffic News” appears on the displa y , and this unit automatically changes the source and tunes in to the station.
19 ENGLISH Searching for your favorite programme Y ou can search for any one of the PTY codes . In addition, you can store y our 6 fav or ite programme types in the n umber buttons . When shipped from the f actory , the follo wing 6 programme types ha ve been stored in the number b uttons (1 to 6).
20 ENGLISH 3 Press and hold the number b utton for more than 2 seconds to store the PTY code selected into the preset number y ou want. Selected preset number flashes f or a while. 4 Press and hold TP/PTY for more than 2 seconds to exit fr om this mode .
21 ENGLISH 2 Press number button 4 to select “TUNER”— T uner categor y of the PSM settings. 3 Press ¢ or 4 to select “T A V olume. ” 4 T ur n the control dial to set to the desired volume . Y ou can set it from “V olume 0” to “V olume 30” or “V olume 50” (depending on the amplifier gain control setting: see page 49).
