5 ENGLISH 1 2 3 2 T urning on the power 1 T urn on the power . Notes on One-T ouch Operation: • When you select a sour ce in ste p 2 below , the power automatically comes on. Y ou do not have to press this button to turn on the power . • If the cassette is already in the cassette compartment, tape play starts automatically .
6 ENGLISH Listening to the radio Y ou can use either automatic searching or manual searching to tune into a particular station. Note: When a cassette is in the cassette compartment, you cannot select the tuner . Be sur e to eject the cassette fr om the cassette compartment to listen to the radio.

8 ENGLISH Notes: • A pre viously preset station is erased when a ne w station is stor ed in the same preset number . • Preset sta tions are erased when the power supply to the memory cir cuit is interrupted (for example, during battery re placement).
9 ENGLISH What you can do with RDS RDS (Radio Data System) allows FM stations to send an additional signal along with their regular programme signals. F or example, the stations send their station names, as well as inf ormation about what type of programme the y broadcast, such as spor ts or music , etc.
10 ENGLISH The same programme can be receiv ed on different frequencies. 7 If you are listening to a cassette (or CD changer : only for KS-FX473R/KS-FX470R) and wish to listen to a TP station, eject the cassette and press TP RDS or TP to enter the T A standby mode .
11 ENGLISH Selecting your favorite programme for PTY Standby Reception Y ou can select your f avorite programme f or PTY Standby Reception to store in memory . When shipped from the f actor y , “NEWS” is stored as the programme type f or PTY Standby Reception.
12 ENGLISH 4 Press and hold the number button for more than 2 seconds to store the PTY code selected into the preset number you want. The selected code name will flash on the displa y .

16 ENGLISH SOUND ADJUSTMENTS Selecting preset sound modes Y ou can select a preset sound adjustment suitable to the music genre . Select the sound mode you want. Each time y ou press the button, the sound mode changes as f ollows: Adjusting the sound Y ou can adjust the sound characteristics to your preference .

When shipped from the factory , the disc number and track n umber information selected is shown.
21 ENGLISH Detaching the control panel Y ou can detach the contol panel when leaving the car . When detaching or attaching the control panel, be careful not to damage the connectors on the back of the control panel and on the panel holder . Detaching the control panel Before detaching the control panel, be sure to turn off the power .
22 ENGLISH Playing CDs Select the CD automatic changer (CD-CH). Pla yback star ts from the first track of the first disc. All tracks of all discs are pla yed back. This section is only for KS-FX473R/KS-FX470R. We recommend that y ou use one of the CH-X series with your unit.

25 ENGLISH TROUBLESHOOTING What appears to be troub le is not always serious. Chec k the following points bef ore calling a ser vice center . Symptoms • A cassette tape cannot be inser ted. • Cassette tapes become hot. • T ape sound is at very low lev el and sound quality is degraded.
26 ENGLISH Causes No CD is in the magazine. CDs are inser ted incorrectly . No magazine is loaded in the CD changer . This unit is not connected to a CD changer correctly . Symptoms • “NO CD” or “NO DISC” appears on the display . • “NO MA G” appears on the display .
