8 English DIGITAL IN DIGITAL 1 (DVD) DIGITAL 2 (CD) Digital Connections By connecting the recei ver and the source component through the digital terminals, sound reproduction quality will be much impro ved. In addition, you can enjoy multi-channel reproduction and some other con venient functions.
9 English Basic Operations The following operations are commonly used when you play any sound sources. Operations hereafter will be explained using the b uttons on the front panel. Y ou can also use the buttons on the remote control for the same functions if they ha ve the same and similar names/mar ks.

12 English DIGITAL AUTO DOLBY DIGITAL DTS SURROUND Attenuating the Input Signal When the input le vel of the analog source is too high, the sounds will be distorted. If this happens, you need to attenuate the input signal le vel to pre vent the sound distortion.

20 English ¶ Vir tual Sur r ound Back —VIR TUAL SBACK Y ou can enjoy the surround back channel while playing back Dolby Digital Surround EX software or DTS-ES software without the surround back speakers. This function crea tes the great surround effect from the behind as if you ha ve connected the surround back speakers.
21 English Adjusting Sound Y ou can make sound adjustment to your preference after completing basic settings. Basic Procedur e Bef ore y ou start, remember ... There is a time limit in doing the follo wing steps. If the setting is canceled before you f inish, start fr om step 1 again.
