junxion box user guide 5 Introduction W elcome. Thank you for using a Junxion Bo x cellular router . T he Junxion Box enables laptops, desktops and other devices t o connect quick ly and easily t o the Internet and remote enterprise networks using cellular data networks .

The remainder of the User Guide provides complete instructions for using the device. These abbreviated steps highlight the basics for a simple setup: 1.
junxion box user guide 7 Hardwar e Over view T urning On the Junxion Box The Junxion Box is pow ered on as soon as you plug it into an A C outlet. T he Junxion Box power port is located on the back of the device. T o turn the device off, simply unplug the power adapter .

10 junxion box user guide Connecting the Junxion Box t o the Internet The Junxion Box can connect to the Internet through a cellular PC C ard modem or with any landline service (office LAN, DSL, cable modem) that is available through an Ethernet cable.

12 junxion box user guide Connection Charges The Junxion Box can be left power ed on indefinitely. By default, the Junxion Bo x W AN Alive™ featur e does send and receive traffic ov er the Internet periodically in order to monitor the Internet connection.
junxion box user guide 13 Connecting a Comput er to the Junxion Box Any laptop , desktop, handheld , printer , or other computing device that supports Ethernet (or Wi-Fi with the JB-110b) can connect to the Junxion Box.

junxion box user guide 15 Where to F ind More Help The Ethernet, Wi-F i, and T CP/IP net w ork inter fac es used by the Junxion Box comply with industry standards. Connection issues may be related to the pr oper use of these standards and not the Junxion Box itself .
16 junxion box user guide Using the Devic e Manager Y ou can configure and customize the Junxion Bo x using the Device Manager . T he Device Manager is built into the Junxion Box itself , so you don’t need to install an y additional software. Y ou can operate the Device Manager with most web br owsers.

PC Card Modem. By default, the Junxion Box will att empt to automatically detect your PC Card modem.

Y ou can view the list of MAC and IP addresses for an y connected clients from the LAN page. Firm ware V ersion. Shows the version of the Junxion Platf orm firmware operating on the Junxion Box.

20 junxion box user guide IP address and gatewa y address. IP passthrough works best when the cellular PC Card modem is setup by the carrier to r eceive a public static IP address on the carrier network. W AN Juggler and IP passthrough cannot be used when the splash page feature is enabled.

T o use an Ethernet W AN link as your primary or secondar y connection to the Internet, plug the Ethernet W AN cable into the Ethernet por t marked “2” on the Junxion B o x.

junxion box user guide 23 W AN Inter face Reboot . If you need to reboot your cellular modem, or the connection to the Ethernet backhaul, click the Reboot button. The Junxion Box will disconnect and reconnect onto the WAN network. LAN connections will remain active during this process.
24 junxion box user guide Lease Timer . The Junxion Bo x dynamically assigns IP addresses to networked computers that use DHCP . T he assigned dynamic IP address will remain eff ective for the duration of time specifi ed in the lease timer . By default, the lease timer is 3,600 seconds, or one hour .
junxion box user guide 25 Junxion Box IP . The Junxion Box by default is assigned a LAN IP address of 192.168.2.1/24. Y ou can customize the LAN IP address to an y IP address that is compatible with the clients connecting to the Junxion Box. Standar d private addresses include 192.

junxion box user guide 27 Security Page Most security features can be configured on the Security page. We recommend y ou change the default password f or the Device Manager (and enable W i-Fi encryption if using the JB-110b). Each group of settings on this page has its own Apply button.

32 junxion box user guide Encryption. Determines the type and length of encr yption key used to encrypt/ decrypt ESP (Encapsulating Securit y P ayload) packets. DES supports 56-bit encryption. 3DES supports 168-bit encr yption. AES (A dvanced Encryption Standard) is available with 128, 192, and 256-bit keys.
