1 INTR ODUCTION The InFocus ® LP770™ multimedia proj ector combines powerful and sophist icated features with easy-to -u se, intuitive controls. Built-in multimedia features include a u dio, a palette of 16.7 mil- lion colors and active matrix liq uid crystal display (LCD) technol- ogy .

5 SETTING UP THE PR OJECTOR 1 Place the pr ojector on a flat surface. • The pr ojector must be within 10 feet (3 m) of your power source a n d within 6 feet (1.8 m) of your computer . • If you want to pr oject from behind a translucent scr een, set up the pr ojector behind your scr een.
6 Setti ng up the Proj ector NO TE : Bef o re you continue, mak e sur e the pr ojector is unplugged and your equipment is turned off. If you’ re connecting a computer , mak e sure the distance betw een it and the projec t or is 6 feet o r less.
7 Connecting a Computer 1 (Desktop models only) Locate the cable that connects your monitor to y our com puter . Unplug it from the computer . 2 Plug one end of t he VESA comp uter cable into the vide o con- nector on your computer .

10 Setti ng up the Proj ector Conne cting a V ideo Play er The LP770 has 3 dif ferent conn ections for video players: S-video, composite video, and BNC (the S-vide o and BNC connections req u ir e cables not included with the LP770).
11 4 Plug the audio cable’s white connector into the Le ft Audio connector on the pr ojector; plug the audio cable’s r ed connec- tor into the Right Audio co nnector on the pr ojector . The pr ojector is compatible with these major broadca st video standar ds: NTSC, NTSC 4.
12 Setti ng up the Proj ector 6 T urn on your computer . NO TE : With some computer s, the order in whic h you pow er up the equipment is ver y impor tant. Most computers should be turned on last, after all other per ipher als have been turned on. Refer to your computer’ s documentation to determine the co rrect o rder .
13 USING T HE PR OJECTOR This section describes how to use an d make adjustments to the pro j ector . It also pr ovides a refer ence to the keypad and remote buttons and the opti ons available from the on-screen menus. Basic Ima ge Adjustment 1 Make sur e you have power ed up your equipment in the right or der (page 1 1).

15 Adjusting the P r ojector T o focus the image, press the Zoom/Focus button on the r emote or keypad. “Focus” appears o n the scr een. Press the adja cent “+” or “-” buttons u ntil the image is clear . T o zoom the image, press the Zoom/Focus button again.

17 Auto P ositi on NO TE: Some sc reen savers inter- fer e with Auto P o sition. If you’ re experiencing problem s, tr y turning your screen s aver off. Press this button to have the projector autom a tically re-adjust a computer image. It adjusts horizontal and vertical position, fine sync, and tra cking.
18 Using the Pr ojector Press Vide o to display the image fr om your video player . Press Video again to toggle between video 1 and video 2. Zoom/Focus T o focus the image, pr ess the Zoom/Focus butt on on the remote or keypad. “Focus” appears o n the scr een.

The bar disappears 10 secon ds after you relea se the volume buttons. • T o decrease the volume, press - . 20 Using the Pr ojector Using the On-Scr een Menus The projector has five me nus that allow you to make ima ge adjustments and change a variety of settings. Most o f these adjustments aren’t ava ilable directly fr om the keypad or remote. T o open the on-screen m enus, pr ess the Me nu button on the remote or keypad.

25 Auto P o wer Off This option lets you select how lo ng the lamp stay s on after no source is detected. After the specified time, the lamp goes out and the pr ojector enters standby mode. Select 0 to cancel this f u nc- tion. T est Signal T urn th is o n to display a test signa l.
