3 Intr oduction Y our new digital projector provides computer and video inputs and de liv- ers outstanding color using Br illiantColor ™ technology . The projector is easy to c onnect, easy to use, and eas y to maintai n. The IN35 and IN37 have XGA 1024x768 resolution while the IN35W has WXGA 1280x 800 r esolution.
4 Connector P anel The pr ojector provides computer and vide o connectors: • one M1-D/A (HD, DVI, and computer) • one VESA (HD, HD component, and computer) • one VESA (monitor out) • one S-video • one composite RCA video • one audio in/one audio out It also has an RJ-45 connector f or se rial control.
5 Connecting a computer Requir ed computer connections Connect the black end of the computer cable to the Com puter 1 connector on the projecto r . Connect the blue end to the video port on your computer . If you are using a desktop computer , you first need to disconnect the monitor cable from the compu ter ’s vide o port.
6 If you are using a desktop compu ter and want to see the image on your computer scr een as well as on the pr ojection screen, plug the monitor cable to the Monitor Out conne ctor on the pr ojector .
7 Displa ying a computer imag e Remove the lens cap. Press the Po w e r button on the top of the projector or the remote. The Power light on the Status Indicator Panel ( page 12 ) blinks green and the fans start to run. When the lamp comes on, the start up screen displays and the Power light is steady gree n.
8 Adjusting the imag e Adjust the height of the projector , if necessary , by pressing the r elease but - ton to extend the elevator foot. Rotate the leveling foot (located at th e bottom back right corner), if neces - sary . Position the projector the desire d distance from the scr een, so that the lens is perpendicular to the screen.
9 Connecting a video de vice No video or audio ca bles are included with your projector . If the video device uses a round, four-pr ong S-video connector , plug an S-video cable into that connector on the vide o device and into the Video 2 connector on the pr ojector .
10 Displa ying a video imag e Remove the lens cap. Press the Po w e r button on the top of the projector or the remote. 11 Adjust the zoom or focus rings by rota ting them until the desired image size and focus ar e produce d. If the image is not squar e , adjust the vertical keystone using the buttons on the keypad. Press the upper Ke y s t o n e button to reduce the upper part of the image, and press the lower Ke y s t o n e button to r educe the lower part.
12 Shutting do wn the projector T urning off the projector T o turn off the pr ojector , press the Po w e r button and verify that you want t o turn the project or off by pr essing the Po w e r button again within 3 seconds. Y ou can cancel the shutdown by not pressing the Po w e r button a second time.

20 Using the k eypad buttons Most buttons are described in detail in other sections, but here is an over - view of their functions: po wer –turns the pr ojector on ( page 7 ) and of f ( page 12 ). menu –opens the on-screen me nus ( page 24 ). select –confirms choices made in the menus ( page 24 ).
21 Using the r emote contr ol The re mote uses two (2) pr ovided AA ba tteries. They ar e easily installed by sliding the cover off the r emote’s back, aligning the + and - ends of the bat - teries, slid ing them into place, and then repl ac in g t he c ove r .
22 Using the audio T o play sound from the projecto r , connect your source to the Audio In con - nector on the projector . T o adjust the volume, use the buttons on the keypad. T o adjust the balance or turn off the projector ’s chime, use the Audio menu (see page 28 ).
23 Optimizing computer imag es After your computer is connected prop erly and the computer ’s image is on the screen, you can optimize the imag e using the onscr een menus. For gen - eral information on using the menus, se e page 24. • Adjust the Keystone, Contrast, or B rightness in the Pi cture menu .
24 Using the menus T o open the menus, press the Men u button on the keypad or remote. (The menus automatically close after 60 seconds if no buttons ar e press ed.) The Main menu appears. U se the arrow buttons to move up and down to high - light the des ired submenu, then press the Select button.
25 Pictur e menu T o adjust the followi ng six settings, highlight the setting, press Select , use the up and down arr ows to adjust the values, then pr ess select to confirm the changes. Ke y s t o n e V e r t i c a l : adjusts the image vertically and makes a squar er image.
26 Presets : Pr esets are pr ovided that optimi ze the projector for displaying computer pr esentations and video im ages in diffe rent lighting co nditions and on differ ent backgr ounds.
27 Advanced settings The following 4 options are for computer and component sources only . Phase : adjusts the horizo ntal phase of a computer source. Tr a c k i n g : adjusts the vertical scan of a computer source. Horizo ntal/V ertical P osition : adjusts th e position of a computer source.
28 Settings menu Audio : allows adjustments to the volume and balance, and turns the projec - tor ’s startup Chime on and of f. Sour ces : allows you to assign a particular input to a specific source key when using an optional remote. Also al lows selection of a default P ower-up Sour ce and enables or disables Autosour ce.
29 PC Scr een Sa ver Off : pr events your computer from go ing into Screen Save mode. This fe ature is only available i f the USB portion of the computer cable is connected to your computer ( page 5 ). Po w e r S a v e : automatically turns the lamp of f after no signals ar e detected for 20 minutes.
30 Custom K ey (for use with optional remote on ly): allows you to assign a dif- ferent function to the Custom button on the remote to quickly and easily use the ef fect. Only one ef fect can be enabled at a time. Highlight an effect and press Select to choose a diffe rent one.
31 PIN feature The PIN (personal identification number) featur e allows you to passwor d protect yo ur projector . Once you enable the PIN feature, you must enter the PIN before you can pr oject an image. T o use this feature, you must register your projector at www .
32 Maintenance Cleaning the lens 1 Apply a non-abrasive camera lens cleaner to a s oft, dry cloth. A void using an excessiv e amount of cleaner , and don’t apply the cleaner directly to the lens. Abrasive cleaners, solvents or other harsh chemicals might scratch the lens.
33 Replacing the pr ojection lamp The lamp hour timer in the Service I nfo menu counts the number of hours the lamp has been in use. T wenty ho urs before the specified end of the lamp’s life, the message “Replace lamp” briefly appears on the screen at each startup.
34 • Be extremely car eful when removing the lamp housing. In the unli kely event that the lamp ruptur es, small glass fragments may be generated. The lamp module is designed to co ntain most of these fragments, but use caution wh en removing it. Before replacing a ruptur ed lamp, clean the lamp compartment an d dispose of cleaning m aterials.
