SSS0133 WARNING . Do not ride in a moving vehicle when the seatback is reclined. This can be dan- gerous. The shoulder belt will not be against your body. In an accident, you could be thrown into it and rec eive neck or other serious injuries. Y ou could also slide under the lap belt and receive serious internal injuries.
SSS1051 Forward and backward: Moving the switch * 1 forward or backward will slide the seat forward or backward to the desired position. Reclining: Move the recline switch * 2 backward until the desired angle is obtained. T o bring the seatback forward again, move the switch * 2 forward.

PREGNANT WO MEN INFINITI recommends that pregnant women use seat belts. The seat belt should be worn snug, and always position the lap belt as low as possible around the hips, not the waist, and place the shoulder belt over your shoulder and across your chest.
. For the most effective protection when the vehicle is in motion, the seat should be upright. Always sit well back in the seat with both feet on the floor and adjust the seat belt properly. SSS0292 Fastening the seat belts 1. Adjust the seat. (See “ SEATS ” earlier in this section.

SSS0651 Forward-facing — step 4 4. Pull the shoulder belt until the belt is fully extended. At this time, the seat belt retractor is in the Automatic Lock- ing Retractor (ALR) mode (child restraint mode). It reverts to Emergency Loc king Retractor (ELR) mode when the seat belt is fully retracted.
SSS0641 Forward-facing — step 8 8. After attaching the c hild restraint, test it before you place the c hild in it. Push it from side to side while holding the child restraint near the seat belt path. The child restraint should not move more than 1 inch (25 mm), from side to side.

After pushing the ignition switch to the ON position, the supplemental air bag warn- ing light illuminates. The supplemental air bag warning light will turn off after about 7 seconds if the system is operational.

SIC4277 Speedometer SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMETER Speedometer The speedometer indicates vehicle speed in miles per hour (MPH) and kilometers per hour (km/h).
SIC3828 T ACHOMETER The tachometer indicates engine speed in revolutions per minute (RPM). Do not rev the engine into the red zone * 1 . CAUTION When engine speed approaches the red zone, shift to a higher gear or reduce engine speed. Operating the engine in the red zone may cause serious engine damage.
SIC3256 FUEL GAUGE The gauge indicates the approximate fuel level in the tank. The gauge may move slightly during braking, turning, acceleration, or going up or down hills. The gauge needle returns to E (Empty) after the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF position.
SIC3181 When the ignition switch is pushed to the ON position, the compass display * B will indicate the direction of the vehicle ’ s heading. If the display reads “ C ” , calibr ate the compass by driving the vehicle in 3 complete circles at less than 5 MPH (8 km/h).
SIC0611B Zone map ZONE VARIA TION CHANGE PROCE- DURE The difference between magnetic north and geographical north is known as variance. In some areas, this difference can some- times be great enough to cause false compass readings. Follow these instruc- tions to set the variance for your par ticular location if this happens: 1.

If any light does not come on, it may indicate a burned-out bulb or an open circuit in the electrical system. Have the system chec ked by an INFINITI retailer . Some indicators and warnings are also displayed on the dot matrix crystal display between the speedometer and tachometer.
or Brake warning light This light functions for both the parking brake and the foot brake systems. Parking brake indicator: When the ignition switch is in the ON position, the light comes on when the parking brake is applied. Low brake fluid warning light: When the ignition switch is in the ON position, the light warns of a low brake fluid level.
If it is not possible to turn on the system or the warning light stays on, it may indicate that the system is malfunctioning. Engine oil pressure warning light This light warns of low engine oil pressure.

Low tire pressure warning light Y our vehicle is equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that monitors the tire pressure of all tires except the spare. The low tire pressure warning light warns of low tire pressure or indicates that the TPMS is not functioning properly.

Seat belt warning light and chime The light and chime remind you to fasten seat belts. The light illuminates whenever the ignition switch is pushed to the ON position, and will remain illuminated until the driver ’ s seat belt is fastened.

Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) If the malfunction indicator light come s on steady or bli nks while the engine is running, it may indicate a potential emis- sion control malfunction. The malfunction indicator light may also come on steady if the fuel-filler cap is loose or missing, or if the vehicle runs out of fuel.
Slip indicator light This indicator will blink when the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system is operating, thus aler ting the driver that the vehicle is nearing its traction limits. The road surface may be slippery. SPORT m ode indicator light (if so equipped) The SPORT mode indicator light illuminates when the SPORT mode is turned “ ON ” .

INDICA TORS FOR OPERA TION 1. Engine start operation indicator This indicator appears when the selector lever is in the P (Park) position. This indicator means that the engine will start by pushing the ignition switch with the brake pedal depressed. 2.
