11 ASSEMBLING Handle • The handle can be assembled in “HIGH” or “LOW” position depending on how the lower handle is installed on the handle bracket pins. • T o install the lower handle on the handle mounting pins, squeeze the bot- tom ends toward each other until the handle will slip onto the mounting pins.

13 Brake Y oke • Position upstop bracket on left inside of upper handle and secure with hex washer head screw . • Install the control bar above the up-stop bracket, into the hole located on the left side of upper handle, with the hole in fl attened part of control bar on the right side.
14 Engine Zone Control Cable • Hook the offset end of the cable into the brake arm of the engine. • Align the tapered end of the plastic fi tting with hole in the mounting bracket and push in until fi tting snaps into place. • Route the cable under the cross bar portion of lower handle.
15 Throttle Control • Set the throttle to the “MAX” position. • Insert wire “Z” bend of cable into inner hole of speed lever on engine. • Loosely install diecast clamp. • Push cable forward until speed lever touches boss and tighten clamp screw .
16 Cables to Upper Handle • Position cables as shown and secure with machine screw and lock nut. • Attach cable clips as shown. Seile zum oberen holm • Seile wie gezeigt positionieren und mit Maschinenschraube und Gegen- mutter sichern. • Seil-Klammern wie gezeigt anbringen.
17 1 2 3 Rope Guide • Install rope guide into side of upper handle and secure with 1/4-20 locknut. • Hold brake yoke down to upper handle and slowly pull out the starter rope until the rope will slip into loop of the rope guide.
18 Install Rear Foot Guard • Position guard as shown and secure with fasteners supplied. NOTE: The foot guard must be installed for the safe operation of this machine. Hinteren fuss-schutz montieren • Den Schutz der Abbildung entsprechend anbringen und mit mitgelieferten Befestigungsteilen sichern.
19 T o Assemble and Attach Grass Catcher • Put grass catcher frame into grass bag with stiff part of bag on the bot- tom. • Slip vinyl bindings over frame. • Lift the rear door on the lawn mower housing and place the grass catcher frame onto the formed up tabs on the rear door hinge bracket.
20 T o Empty Grass Catcher • T o remove grass catcher , release en gine brake yoke to stop engine. • Lift up rear door and remove the grass catcher by the handle. • Do not drag the bag when emptying, it will cause unnecessary wear . 21 Filling with Oil Fill the engine with engine oil. SAE30 can be used. (Read the enclosed motor operating in struc tions as well.) Ölaffülling Füllen Sie Öl in den Motor . Es kann SAE30 verwendet werden. (Lesen Sie auch die beiliegende Gebrauchsanweisung für den Motor .
22 1 2 "MAX" Starting and Stopping Place the mower on a fl at surface. Note: not on gravel or similar. Fill the tank with petrol, not oil-blended . Both lead-free and lead-containing petrol may be used. Do not fi ll with petrol while the engine is running.

25 Maintenance Always remove the spark plug lead before repair , cleaning or main te nance work. After 5 hours running time, tighten screws and nuts. Check the oil.
