English – 5 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to minimize vibration and mak e operation easier . Use of incorrectly wound cord or an incorrect cutting attachment increases the le vel of vibr ation.
6 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Chec king, maintaining and servicing the machine ′′ ′ ′ s safety equipment Throttle loc k • Make sure the throttle control is loc ked at the idle setting when the throttle lock is released. • Press the throttle lock and mak e sure it retur ns to its original position when you release it.
English – 7 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Regularly check that the muffler is securely attached to the machine. • If the muffler on y our machine is fitted with a spark arrestor mesh then it should be cleaned regularly . A bloc ked mesh causes the engine to ov erheat, which can lead to serious damage.

English – 11 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Grass trimming using a trimmer head and plastic blades T rimming • Hold the trimmer head just above the g round at an angle. It is the end of the cord that does the work. Let the cord work at its own pace. Nev er press the cord into the area to be cut.

English – 13 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the J-handle • Clip the loop handle onto the shaft. Note that the loop handle must be fitted between the arro ws on the shaft. • Slide the spacer into the slot in the loop handle. • Fit the nut, knob and scre w .
14 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the blade guar d/combination guar d, grass blade and grass cutter • Hook the blade guard/combination guard (A) onto the fitting on the shaft and secure with the bolt. CA UTION! Use the recommended blade guard. See the T echnical data section.
English – 15 FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a two-strok e engine and must alwa ys been run using a mixture of gasoline and two-strok e engine oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
16 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuelling • Clean the area around the fuel cap . Contamination in the tank can cause operating prob lems. • Ensure that the fuel is well mix ed by shaking the container bef ore filling the tank. ! W ARNING! T aking the following precautions, will lessen the risk of fire: Do not smoke or place hot objects near fuel.
English – 17 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting F or saf ety reasons follo w these recommendations! • Check the b lade to ensure that no cracks hav e formed at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole .
18 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Hold the body of the machine on the ground using y our left hand (CA UTION! Not with your f oot!). Grip the star ter handle, slowly pull out the cord with y our right hand until you f eel some resistance (the star ter pawls grip), now quic kly and powerfully pull the cord.
English – 19 MAINTENANCE Carb urettor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
20 – English MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessar y to readjust. First tur n the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate. Then turn the screw anticlockwise until the cutting attachment stops.
English – 21 MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o k eep the wor king temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Fins on the flywheel. 3 Cooling fins on the cylinder .
22 – English MAINTENANCE Bevel gear The be vel gear is filled with the right quantity of grease at the f actor y . Howe ver , before using the machine y ou should check that the be vel gear is filled three-quarters full with grease. Use HUSQV ARNA special grease.
