8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to minimize vibration and mak e operation easier . The machine ′ s vibration damping system reduces the transf er of vibration between the engine unit/cutting equipment and the machine ′ s handle unit.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Blades T o ensure good cutting results it is impor tant that the contact pressure between the b lades is correct. The contact pressure is adjusted by turning the screws on the underside of the bar clockwise as f ar as they will go .
10 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the hand guar d and loop handle (326HD A55/326HE3) 1 Assemble the hand guard and loop handle b y screwing them together . T ake care to align the holes in both parts. 1 (326HD A55) 2 Slide the loop handle and hand guard onto the shaft.
English – 11 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the impact guar d (326HE4) Fit the guard using the three screws and w ashers. Fit the two shor t screws in hole A. Tighten the screws to a torque of 4 Nm. After the machine has been in use for around 20 hours , re-tighten the screws to 4 Nm.
12 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver start the machine: 1 If you ha v e spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allo w remaining fuel to e vapor ate. 2 If you ha v e spilt fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes . W ash any part of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
English – 13 FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by fi lling half the amount of the petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the remaining amount of petrol.
14 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting • Inspect the working area. Remove an y objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Ne v er use blades that are dull, crac ked or damaged. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order.

English – 17 W ORKING TECHNIQ UES • Tighten the knob . T ranspor t position (326HE4) Once the work has been completed fold the cutting unit bac k against the shaft to simplify transpor t and storage of the hedge trimmer . 1 T ur n off the engine. 2 Loosen the knob on the shaft (clockwise).

First tur n the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the b lades star t to mov e. Then turn the idle adjustment screw T anticlockwise until the b lades stop .
20 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Fins on the fl ywheel. 3 Cooling fi ns on the cylinder .
