1 ii T able of Cont ents Page 2 How Sonar W How Sonar W ork ork s s Sonar technology is based on sound waves. The Matrix TM Fishing Syst em uses sonar to locate and define structure, bot tom cont our and composition, as well as calibrate digital depth directly below the transducer .
2 GPS uses a constellation of 2 4 satellites that con tinually send radio signals to the earth. Y our position is determined by receiving signals from up to 12 satellit es and measuring the distance from the satellites t o determine your present position.
4 Menu - Press the MENU key once for the X -Press TM Menu. The X -Press TM menu allows you to access the set tings that you change frequen tly without having to navigate thr ough a menu system. Only the X -Press TM menu items associated with the curr ent view are displayed.

8 In In tr tr oduc oduc tion t tion t o Views o Views When the VIEW key is pressed, the Matrix display cycles through the available views. Any Matrix view can be hidden or displayed as part of the view rotation using Select View from the Advanced Setup Menu.
10 As the boat moves, the Matrix unit c harts the changes in depth on the display to create a pr ofile of the Bott om Conto ur . The default presentation highlights the bot tom profile with a Structure ID® feature and gray tones. From the appearance of the gray t ones in the bot tom cont our , the type of bottom can be determined.
12 Big Digits View provides digital data in a large, easy-to-see format. Depth is always displayed. Readouts for temperature, speed and T riplog information are displayed if the appropriat e accessory is connected to the system.
14 GPS Diagnostic View shows a sky chart and numerical data from the GPS receiver . The sky chart shows the location of each visible GPS satellit e with its satellite number and a signal strength bar . A dark grey bar indicates that the satellit e is being used to determine your current position.
16 hour time period encompassing the date. Y ou can change the dat e to look at tide information before or af ter the date displayed by pressing the LEFT or RIGHT cursor key respectively . Press the EXIT key t o remove the information bo x and the cursor bull’ s eye will be centered over the tide station position.
18 Display the W aypoints Submenu: From any view , press the MENU key twice to display the Main Menu System, then use the RIGHT Cursor k ey to select the Navigation tab . Select Waypoin ts and press the RIGHT Cursor key t o display the W aypoints submenu.
20 Add or Remov e a T rolling Grid: From the W aypoints submenu, select Grid and press the RIGHT Cursor key t o add the grid to the selected waypoint. The trolling grid will appear on all of the navigation views, and can be used as a guide when trolling around a waypoin t.

Delete allows you to delete a trac k from a list of previously-saved tracks.
32 Map Borders allows you to display or hide map borders. (Hidden, Visible, Default = Hidden) Lat/Lon Grid allows you to display or hide a grid showing latitude and longitude. (Hidden, Visible, Default = Hidden) Spot Soundings allows you to display or hide spot soundings , which are depth measurements shown on the chart.
