1 How to use the scanner This manual describes how to use the HP Scanjet G3110 Photo Scanne r. This section presents an overview of the scanner and how t o use it.
To use the Button Disa ble Utility, comple te the following steps: 1. On your hard drive, naviga te to C:Prog ram FilesCommo n FilesHewlet t-Packard Scanjet G3110. 2. Double-click hpbdu.exe . The HP Button Disable Utility di alog box is disp layed. 3.
Icon Feature name Description Scan to e-mail button Scans one or more pages and attaches the file to a new e- mail message. Scan to PDF button Scans one or more pages and saves them as a PDF file for sharing or storing. Transparent materials adapter (TMA) You can use th e transparent materi als adapter (TMA) t o scan 35 mm slides o r negatives.
Scan from o ther softwa re progra ms You can scan an image di rectly into one of your soft ware programs if the p rogram is TWAIN-compliant . Generally, the program is compliant if it has a menu option such as Acquire , Scan , or Import New Object .
For scanning sl ides or negatives, see Scan film . 1. Place the original face down on the scanner g lass, as indicated by the reference marks, and then cl ose the lid. 2. Press the Scan button ( ). The Scanning fro m ... dialog box appears. 3. Se lect a scan shortcu t; the correspondi ng settings disp lay to the right.
4. Click Scan . 5. If you selected Show a pr eview and you want to scan another document or page, place the page on th e glass and click Add Pages . When you are finish ed with all pages, click Finish . NOTE: If Show a preview was not selected, you might be prompted to scan additional docum ents.

1. Open the scanner lid. 2. Remove the negative strip holder f rom the slide hold er. 3. Do one of the following to loa d the slides or nega tives: • If you are scannin g slides, place the sl ides into the slid e holder.
