Safety and Maintenance Gui delines User ’s Guide 2–3 ■ Unplug your monitor from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. If the screen requires additional cleaning, use an antistatic screen cleaner .

User ’s Guide 3–1 3 Set ting Up t he Monitor T o set up the monitor , ensure that the power is turned of f to the monitor , computer system, and other attached de vices, then follo w the steps below . Installin g th e Monitor P e destal T o install the monitor pedestal: 1.
3–2 User ’s Guide Setting Up the Monitor 2. Using both hands, position the monitor ov er the pedestal base and press do wn firmly to lock the pedestal base in place. When the base locks, it will make a clicking sound. Make sure the pedestal base is securely locked before continuing with the setup.
Setting Up the Monitor User ’s Guide 3–3 Connec tin g t he Monitor 1. Place the monitor in a con venient, well-v entilated location near your computer . 2. Connect the monitor signal cable on the back of the monitor to the video connector on the rear panel of the computer .
3–4 User ’s Guide Setting Up the Monitor 4. If your monitor is a multimedi a model, connect one end of the audio cable to the back of the monitor , and the other end to the audio connector on the back of the computer .

The gr ounding plug is an important safety featur e. ■ P lug the pow er cor d into a gr ounded (earthed) electri cal outlet that is easily acce ssible at all times.

After the base is remov ed from the monitor , four threaded mounting holes are exposed on the monitor back panel to be used for mounting purposes.

4–4 User ’s Guide Oper ating the Monitor Adjustin g Monitor Set tin gs Use the On-Screen Display (OSD) to adjust the screen image based on your vie wing preferences. T o access the OSD, do the follo wing: 1. If the monitor is not already on, press the Po wer switch to turn on the monitor .

4–8 User ’s Guide Oper ating the Monitor Adjustin g Sc reen Q ualit y Allo w the monitor to warm up for 20 minutes before performing the follo wing procedures. The Auto-adjustment feature automatically fine-tunes the image quality each time a ne w video m ode is displayed.
Operating the Monito r User ’s Guide 4–9 ✎ When adjusting the Clock and Clock Phase v alues, if the monitor images become distorted, continue adjusting the v alues until the distortion disappears. T o restore the factory settings, select Y es from the Factory Reset menu in the on-screen display .
4–10 User ’s Guide Oper ating the Monitor Sleep Timer Mod e The Sleep T imer mode is an energ y-saving feature that enables you to set a time for the monitor to po wer on and off at the same time e very day . This also extends the life of the backlight b ulbs in the monitor .
