39 T r oubleshooting The f irst s tep in pr oblem-sol ving is establishing w hether the pr oblem li es with the c ar tr idge , the dri v e, the hos t server and its connecti ons, or w ith the way the s y stem is being oper ated. Most m odern SCS I host b us adapters locate and d isplay att ached devices when the s ystem is booting up .
