1-1 Introducing the Sw itch 1 Introducing the Switch The HP ProCurve 3500, 3500yl and 6200yl sw itches are multipor t switches that can be used to build high-performan ce switched networks. Thes e switches are store-and-forw ard devices offering low latency for hi gh-speed netwo rking.

2-1 Installing the Swi tch 2 Installing the Switch The HP ProCurve 3500, 3500yl and 6200yl sw itches come with an accessory kit that includes the brackets for mounti ng the switch in a sta ndard 19-inch telco rack, in an equipment cabinet, and with rubber feet that can be attached so the switch can be secure ly located on a horizontal surface.

Betw een any two end nod es, there should be only one active cabling path at any time. Data path loops will ca use broadcas t storms that will sever ely impact your network perf ormance.
