If t he seat belt touches or crosses your neck, or if it crosses your arm instead of your should er, you need to adjust the seat belt anch or hei ght. Insert t he latc h plat e into t he buckle, the n tug o n th e be l t to mak e su re the belt is secur ely lat ched.

CONT INUED T h e driver’ s advanc ed f ron t airbag system includes a sea t position sensor under t he seat . If t he seat is t oo f ar f orw ard, t he a irbag w ill inf late wit h less f orce, regardless o f the severity of t h e impact.
Whe n the passe nger air bag gets tur ned of f by t he weight sensors, a ‘‘passe nger airba g of f ’’ indicat or in the c en ter o f the d as h b oa rd co mes on (s ee page ). Be aware that ob jects pl aced on the passenger’s sea t ca n also cause t he airb ag to be turned o f f .
CONT INUED Only one air bag will deploy dur ing a side impac t. If t he impact is on t he passenger’s side, t he passenger’s side airbag wil l depl oy even if t h ere is no passe nger.

Since L A T CH-compa tible child seat s are easi er to in stall and red uc e the possibilit y of impr oper inst allat ion, we r ecommend sele cting t his st yle. In sea ting posit ions and v ehicles not equipped w ith L A T CH, a L A T CH- compat ible child se at ca n be inst alled using a sea t belt .
A f ter select in g a proper chil d seat an d a go od p l ac e to i n sta l l the s eat, the re are th ree m ai n ste p s i n inst alling the s eat : A ll child sea ts must be secured t o the ve hicle with t he lap par t of a lap/shoulde r belt or wit h th e LAT C H (Lo we r An c ho rs a nd T ethers f or CHildren) system.
Make sure t here are no objects near t he anc hors tha t could prevent a secure connection b etw ee n th e ch il d se at an d th e anch ors. Move the seat belt buckle o r t ongue away f rom t he lower anch ors.

When not using t he L AT CH syst em, all child seats must be secured t o the vehic le with t he lap par t of a la p/ shoulder belt . Wit h t he child sea t in t he desir ed sea ting posit ion, route t.
A f t er conf irming tha t the belt is locked , grab t he shoulder pa rt of the belt near t he b uckle, and pull up to remo ve any slac k f rom the lap pa rt of t he belt . Re member, if the la p par t o f the b el t is no t tig ht, t he child seat will not be s ecure.

Does t he shoulder belt cross b etw ee n th e ch il d ’s n e ck an d arm ? Is t he lap part of t he belt a s low as possible, t ouching the child’ s thi gh s? Will t he child be able t o sta y sea ted like t his f or t he whole t rip? If you answer yes t o all these quest ions, the c hild is rea dy to wea r t he lap/shoulder belt cor rect ly.

Move the steering wheel up or down, a nd in or out , so it point s toward your chest , no t t oward your f ac e. Make sur e you ca n see th e instrume nt pane l gauges and indicat ors. Pu sh th e le ve r up to l oc k the st eering w heel in posit ion.
Y o us h o u l dh a v er e c e i v e da k e y number t ag w ith your k eys. Y ou will need this key number if you ever hav e to get a lost k ey repla ced. Use only Honda- approv ed key blank s. T hese keys contain electronic circ ui ts that are activated by the immobilizer sy stem.
If t he system repeatedly does no t rec ognize the coding of your k ey, contact your dealer. If you lose y our key a nd you cannot sta rt t he engine, cont act your dealer . Whe n you tur n the ignit ion swit ch to t he ON (II) posit ion, the immobilizer syst em indicat or should come on brief ly, t hen go of f .
